Hi

I created unlock request via tescomobile.ie page, got message that I should receive e-mail confirmation within 72 hours.

I tog nothing for over a week now.

Could I ask you to follow it up ?

On PM you told me that it will take week to resolve.

It is more than that and no sign of unlock code.

I'm flying to Barcelona this Sunday and need to have phone unlocked.

Just in case - if can't unlock - are there any setting in roaming I need to be aware when in Spain ?

Hi somebody_else,

Once we send the request to the manufacture unfortunately we await for them to provide us with the unlock code. If you have not received this yet apologies.

Could you attempt to manually select an available network and restart the device to see if this resolves the issue.

If you are experiencing issues with your Data roaming the Roaming APN my load automatically which is incorrect. You should delete the Proximus APN and input the tescomobile.liffeytelecom.com APN, and ensure full Data Roaming is enabled.

So I need to just wait for the code - OK.

My question was about any issues when roaming in Spain.

I know sometimes when abroad there is need to change roaming network selection from Automatic to Manual where you have two options international Bekgacom IMSI and National Tesco IMSI.

My question was if I need to change anything in above while in Spain.

Hi Tom,


While in Ireland go to settings and select

a) Settings/phone/sim applications/when abroad/network selection/manual/NATIONAL - TESCO IMSI

(this MANUAL TESCO IMSI setting can remain like this while in Ireland/NI,UK or while roaming in Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Belgium) .

 

If customers are roaming outside these countries above or run into no coverage areas while roaming in the countries above, then select the following:

b) Settings/phone/sim applications/when abroad/network selection/manual/INTERNATIONAL - BELGACOM IMSI 
and through this partner we have worldwide roaming!

I just want to share with you that I'm back and still no sign of NAC code from you.
Had to pay for unlock code.

Not very impressed.

Hi Tom

We send away the request to the manufacture and then they send them out if you have not received the email all we can do is wait it usually takes 10 working days but some devices take longer.

Hi Somebody_else

We have had word back from alcatel and they have told us that there is no unlock for this device it has already been unlocked. We can only unlock through the manufacturer and this is what they have told us.
