Will future customers lose O2's amazing unlock terms?

One of the brilliant things about O2 Open billpay plans is the handset you buy can be unlocked after paying the first bill if there's no unpaid balance.

So 31 days after getting a handset with o2 on the open plan you can get it unlocked.

With Three contracts you have to have completed your entire 18/24 month contract before you can apply for a handset unlock.

I would guess that everyone on the existing O2 Open contracts will be able to continue to avail of that.

But it's another perk that o2 once offered that has nothing comparable in Three :(
