Hello, I'm thinking of sitting the GAMSAT this September with a view of starting a postgrad medicine course in September 2018. However, I'm currently in the first year of a PhD. I'm not enjoying it at all. If I can do well in the GAMSAT I'll see if I can finish with a research masters, if not I inte
Hello, I've just finished my undergrad and will be starting my PhD soon. Just wondering how many days are you entitled to? The standard 20? Thank you. :)
Hello, I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience in attaining scholarships to study in the UK? Most of the funding bodies I've seen require applicants to have been resident in the UK for three years to attain a full scholarship, which I have not been. I have recently finished my undergraduate
I'm a current third year and will be beginning fourth year in September all going well. I'm just wondering if anyone here who's finished the course has any advice as to what to expect in fourth year? Also, where are you working now and has the course prepared you well for a career in science (or per
Hello, does anyone know when the Christmas exam results are generally released? Is there a fixed day or do we find out the results of the individual modules individually? Thanks!
Hello, I'm currently a three prepay customer, and on Tuesday I received a call convincingly me to move to the classic flex max 350 sim only plan. I received the sim card on Friday but I'd like to cancel because it's of no benefit to me whatsoever. Prepay is more than enough for what I need. I've
Hi, I'm just wondering if it's possible to use a pencil to write in exams or are we permitted to use pen only? I know you're allowed to use pencil for the MCQ sheets but I'm not sure if it's allowed for longer questions. Thanks!
I think they take about 75 students in total, split approx 50% EU/International
Congrats to everyone on your results! If you have the points you'll get your first offer, it doesn't matter what you have listed after that. The points are unlikely to change by more than 1 point from last year, unless they've changed the quota for places in any of the colleges etc Otherwise, as y
No you're not crazy to try. I don't think there's a right answer to this question, and it varies from person to person. What matters is whether or not you think you're too old, because it's you who's going to be putting in the work and making the sacrifices. If you got into GEM this year, you'd ha
That's plenty of time. Try not to get stressed out with the exam, you can only do so much to prepare. I would not give up work to study for it. I worked whilst prepping for it, and it turned out fine. Best of luck!
Congrats on the offer Alaska. That mindset might help you for the exam (no pressure) - and you may end up doing better than you expect. I sat last September as a practice run, but I did well enough not to have to sit the exam again. At this point I think you should spend your time practicing que
Sorry to hear that you didn't get an offer, but what other way would you propose they do it? Random allocation seems like a fair method to me when they don't have enough places for everyone. I know some people have suggested using degree scores as a tie-breaker, but that's not necessarily fair eithe
Cao # and your DOB is the password. You can then change your password when you sign up. I have access to my UCD email, but can’t login to blackboard and I presume that’s because I haven’t registered. http://www.ucd.ie/students/newstudents/documents/UCD%20Welcome%20Booklet%202018.pdf
There's the option to take a summer project (SSRA) during the summer after first year, with the credits assigned to second year. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that they're assigned based on academic performance and/or interview. For those who don't do a summer project, there's two 5 credit
