Tool or ornament

I've taken a saw and chisel to mine* often enough if it didn't do the job right. Not ornamental. * to the stock, not the pressure-bearing components. Don't take a chisel to your chamber

Jaysus Gemma, are you not tired from your day outside Google? :D The EU commission is not unelected or unaccountable - the government we elect here nominates candidates and the MEPs we elect here votes to accept or reject them. That's every single bit as elected and accountable as your governmen

Are long barrel centrefire pistols legal here?

We don't know kowloon, that's why it's a gray area. At some point this will either be resolved in legislation or there'll be a court case, but neither's happened yet

Are long barrel centrefire pistols legal here?

The gray is that you can't cut down a barrel below 50cm, but if it was made that way in the factory, that's not explicitly banned. Not if it's removable, no. Integral compensators or suppressors might have a different status; I don't think anyone's ever set a precedent there

Are long barrel centrefire pistols legal here?

It's not a poor choice of words; it's something we've been saying for a few years now - licencing restricted short firearms is what's currently impossible. If you aren't in that category, problem avoided. And from what I remember, in the UK at least, LBRs were one way to do that so you could still

Are long barrel centrefire pistols legal here?

Pistols aren't banned. The exact law is that you cannot issue a licence for a restricted short firearm. If that doesn't qualify as a short firearm, you can issue a licence for it (it might need to be a restricted licence, but that still can be licenced). The definition is

Sure, if you can find such a thing as a ziplock bag. If you're thinking of a ziploc bag on the other hand, you might find that taking the piss is also an Olympic sport in this country :P

While it's true that that would technically fulfill the SI pigeon, taking the piss like that is going to get another supplemental SI drafted; and it won't need anything but a Minister's signature. So rather than risk more errors from another SI, perhaps pick your battles

Theoretically. In practice, the whole point of criminality is that you don't adhere to laws and restrictions. And given that any crime you would commit with a firearm carries a heavier penalty than anything in the civil law section of the Firearms Act, those parts might as well not exist from the po

Which you would also need marked today if the Super specified it. And for half the things the Act technically covers, that'd be a hairy thing - what part of a crossbow would you mark for example? And how, without weakening it and risking a potential failure of a component? I don't welcome it - but

It's a shockingly hazy topic that one. There's nothing on the Department's website, Iris Oifigiuil has nothing from August 9 back to July 12, there's nothing on oireachtas.ie but none of that means it wouldn't show up tomorrow. There just isn't a central clearing-house for SIs, and they are effectiv

Our existing Firearms Act, section 3 (12) already says this though and has for quite some time: This is giving more detail than just saying "prescribed". So basically, you can't use a permanent marker anymore. Every new law is something to watch closely, but this doesn't at first glance look like
