We are looking at having a micro wedding with just immediate family in attendance (approx 12 people). We want to find a nice room/venue to have a civil ceremony in with a registrar/celebrant then take our family to dinner at a favourite restaurant. But we are at a bit of a loss for places we could have the ceremony, are we just restricted to small hotel conference rooms? Are there any nice examples of these for such a small group? Any ideas for anywhere else we could try?

Hello, myself and my fiancé are hoping to book Martinstown House in Kildare for our wedding. We love the rustic vibe and the staff have been excellent to deal with. I'm just wondering if anyone has been to a small/intimate wedding there and what the food was like for it? We have heard feedback from other people who have been tp bigger weddings in their marquee saying they were left hungry and it was buffet style food..but this doesn't match the menus we've been given for our small wedding so may not apply.

Also how did the bar work being cash only and no draft beer?

We have also heard that they turn the music down quite early 12/1am but unsure if this is just for bigger weddings in the marquee.

Many thanks!

Does anyone have any ideas on the format of a day if you are going to get married in the registry office and then have a party? I am looking for ideas! I don't want a formal sit down meal, just a bbq and a party kind of feel to the evening with maybe 60 or 70 guests! Do I wear a wedding dress to the registry office? If not, do I change? I have absolutely no idea!

Say a morning in the registry office, on for lunch with immediate family and then head to a venue for the party?! I'm open to ideas!

Hi All,

I'm trying to pick a venue for my wedding reception at the moment and am having a very hard time finding somewhere, as we are having a small wedding of about 30 people with hopefully an additional 30 for an afters. One venue we might choose is a listed building, which means that we can't have amplified music. We can have a jazz trio or something like that. So my question is, would this be boring do you think? Would anyone dance to this?

The other hotel venue option, as the room is directly below hotel rooms, needs all music (can be band/dj) off by 12 midnight. I feel that, for my afters guests, this would be a bit like "here's your hat, what's your hurry"!!!

So, I am in need of advice please! Do you think either is an option and if so, what would you go with?

Thanks all - really appreciate any thoughts on this!
