Hey,

Had to go to Dublin on business today and had to stay up tonight and tomorrow night...

Went to book a hotel - used LastMinute at first and saw that there were VERY few rooms and they were costly... like 5 hotels on the list and average 500 Euro a night... booked one and had LastMinute come back to say they cancelled my booking....

I then started Googling hotels and going to their website... I went to dozens, from the big ones in the centre of town to corporate ones near the airport to small ones in various subarbs....

Finally got the last hotel in a small hotel in town...

Two questions:
1. Is there something specific on tonight leading to all the hotels being full
2. Is this the lack of hotel rooms in Dublin that may have been a little part of the Web Summit leaving Dublin after 2015?

Hey...

I have a ticket to Naples in mid June for myself and my mom, we want to see lots but find a good place to stay as a base away from the hustle and bustle... And here it's where it gets complicated!

Ideally, we would love to stay somewhere on the beach, so we can have long strolls in the morning and relax by the waves in the afternoon (a pool could be a good alternative too). As far as I can see on-line the best places for beach lounging seem to be Sorrento, Capri, Ischia and alike, though they all look horrendously expensive and I am not too sure if they are that relaxing !

Can anyone recommend somewhere nice to stay, that you can use a comfortable base for relaxing, soaking up the sun and lounging around, with good access to Naples for sightseeing?

Thank You so much:)!

Can't seem to find a more suitable Forum so here goes.

My partner and I would like to grab a short, two night, break in Dublin. Mid-week or weekend, it doesn't really matter.

Her main aim would be to visit Dublin Zoo, I'd like to do a show. And yes women been women I suppose she will want to trail me around the shops . But I digress, God bless the little lady

So I'm hunting for a bargain and I guess the best way to go about that is to combine as much as possible: dinner, theater, zoo or whatever combination one could come up with.

I know there are some good short breaks to be had in Dublin any ideas as to where best to find them. Preference would be 4 Star and 5 if possible. As we won't have a car it will have to be somewhere central. Our time scheduled are pretty flexable and if we could squeeze in a third night we might do that to.

Thanks for any info or suggestions.

ps how about a Forum for short breaks ?

Hi,

My partner and i are getting married next year, and we are just looking at some venues to have a small buffet style wedding reception with just about 30 or 35 guests.

We are just wondering can anyone recommend any hotels that would be suitable. We have been thinking about the Clybaun Hotel, Park Lodge or The Salthill Hotel.

Any advice would be welcome. Thanks!

Are there any near there that you would recommend? I'd prefer something that's €60 or less for the night.

I don't usually use hotels but I need to find one for a few nights in September. I have managed to break it down to two hotels, they are in an ideal location for me as I do not have a car and would prefer to be in the City.

Does anyone have any information on these and which one is the best?
1. Isaacs Hotel, MacCurtain Street.
2. Gresham Metropole, also MacCurtain Street.

I would be grateful for any opinions. Are the corporate/executive rooms nice?

Thanks.

Hi,

Looking to book a wedding venues for 2012/ 2013 and narrowed it to one of three different venues so far

1. Kilashee House
2. Druids Glen
3. The Heritage Golf & Country club

Any idea what additionals we should look for in these places for free that others may have experience with e.g. additional rooms, free welcome drink, reduced corkage, reduced overall prices etc. They have given us their standard set but once sure I want to back and get it sorted in one go with the best deal we can. We have 180 people for the wedding.

Any other advice greatly appreciated!

Hoping to go away for 3 nights from Christmas Eve. Can anyone suggest a good hotel with a Christmas program. We are a couple with no kids so would have a preference for somewhere where the focus might be more on relaxation over a glass of mulled wine by a roaring fire etc rather than a visit from Santa. Having done a google search there is a lot of stuff from last year still up. Just wondering if perhaps I am thinking too far ahead ( though I wouldn't have thought so) or are lots of hotels not doing Christmas this year. So far, I can see that Harveys Point Donegal, Cashel House and Renvyle House, Connemara and the Park Hotel in Kenmare have various offerings. The Park looks to be out of our price range. Cashel and Renvyle look good but I have concerns about the accommodation being a little dated so not sure about those. Are there any others that I have missed or can anyone offer any advice. Thanks
