Hi all,
I have a Daikin heat pump quite recent (model ebvh11s23dj6v installed in May 2023) with a 230lt tank. I've noticed a weird trend where the water temperature sometimes dips to 30-35 degrees and obviously if you go have a shower all you get is cold water.

I noticed this happens even more often when I do a bath to my kids more often. More precisely when that happens I don't fill the bathtub fully (ofc) but only a 15-20 cm.

The original temperature was set 50 degrees, so I tried to increase to 55 but with no luck.

I wonder if this is the normal behaviour or I should be worried that something is happening. You can see below I have the tank temperature recorded and, although the drop has always been there, it got worse recently.

Anyone with some experience and/or technical knowledge can suggest what to do?

For the laugh, I've asked chatgpt at how many degrees should the tank temp be after I fill half a standard bathtub with a 230lt tank with a 50degrees temp inside and here's its answer

The water tank temperature will decrease from 50°C to roughly 46,1°C

Asking here as Daikin doesn't have a good warranty support as you have to call in external companies that charge around 200 euro and I'm pretty sure they will get in and say "all looks good"..

Anyone got advice for who could fix a leaking Joule system? (Apparently Joule don't do service jobs)

I heard a bang and leaking water sound and found a pipe had disconnected from the device above it (white pipe in the middle isn't attached to brass fitting in photo). The blue glycol poured out and came through ceiling below. Thankfully there was a socket below it which tripped the switch when it got wet and shut down the system, or it would have been much worse.

We moved in 2 years ago and no trouble up to now, but with this we are now without hot water. I could try and just pop it back in but worried it would just leak again. Who usually fixes these things, as we need the whole system serviced as pressure may be too low now too.

We are looking at an older property and ideally we will replace the old oil boiler with a heatpump (air to water) I have seen a couple of the high heat output pumps but wonder if they are any good.

We will also be installing a solar roof system with an aim to reduce the houses foot print as much as possible. The house will need a re-plumb and rewire so we figure that we had better do all the core work while we have boards lifted. Ideally a new highpressure system and zoned heating.

The house we are looking at is 3 stories, 2 over basement (half underground) and we want to make it as comfortable as possible with as small as possible running costs. House is c 1870. Down the road we would like to install original (cast iron) rads that would suit the property. We would also like to install a stove, if possible with back boiler so when we do light the fire it can assist to heat rads / water.

We will endeavor to bring the house back to its original state with the modern tech there but not highly visible.

Anyone in the know that could throw some ball park figures at the items listed below?

House is 2500 sq ft.

1. Replumb to include larger hotwater tank and high pressure system.
2. high heat output air to water heat pump.

We will also in time replace all the crappy aluminum windows to timber sash (cost is a factor here) and will take full advantage of seai grants available.

I will do a lot of the dog work myself in the property when it comes to the rewire (i.e. pulling cables and lifting boards, chasing walls etc) to keep the cost down. I will also be running a full data network to facilitate future modernization.

Any thoughts appreciated
