OK, so when you are out shopping do you buy Irish products/produce?

If you do do you do so to:

* Support Irish Jobs and the Irish Economy?
* Buy it because its good quality?
* Buy it because you feel its just the right thing to do?

If you saw 2 Identical things whilst out shopping and one was produced in china or UK or somewhere else and the identical or near identical thing was made or produced in Ireland if the Items produced in other countries were a lot cheaper would you buy them ones or if the Irish equivalent Items were dearer would you pay that extra amount and buy Irish?

Apologies if this was asked and answered already. I done a search and found some results, but nothing that definitively answered it.

I've had commercials, and crew cabs for some years now. always taxed them commercially. No issues there.

My current crew cab was bought in 2007, and i done the usual declaration, etc. For 4 years i never had a bother. However over the last two years i have been asked, only on occasion, for another declaration.

Sometimes i am, other times i'm not. Depends on the teller on the window. I thought you only had to do this when initially taxing the vehicle. Coupled with the sporadic requests for them, and the fact that i cannot find anything online to say you need to do this each time i need to ask.

Is anyone else being asked for this declaration each time they tax their commercial?

When i brought in the "Goods Declaration" the last time the lady said i needed a crew cab declaration. I told her i already done one when i first taxed it, and a couple of times since. She said i needed to do it every time, and that as i had the goods declaration signed by the Gardaí she would put it through, but told me to make sure i used the right form in the future.

It's not exactly a major pain. I mean it's only one extra form. Whats bothering me is is it needed each time?

I wanted to purchase a professional camcorder and contacted the Camera Shop in Dublin. They didn't have the model I wanted in stock but told me they could order it in for me if I paid a deposit of €1200 which was a third of the cost. I agreed and over the phone they took the money from my account with my laser debit card. I then saw the camera a few days later online for a good €600 cheaper and contacted the camera shop to tell them I had changed my mind. They told me because they had ordered the camera from Sony, that Sony didn't accept returns once the item had been dispatched and that I couldn't get a refund on my deposit.
They didn't discuss this matter with me before I agreed to hand over my deposit nor did I sign or read any terms and conditions document as all my dealings were made over the phone with them. Does anyone know legally my rights here? Can they really just keep my deposit and is it true that Sony won't accept goods returned?

Hey guys I'm looking for advice here. I have a few old computers and monitors up in the attic and its really starting to get cramped up there for space. As well as two old printers, some of this stuff is from the early 90's and most of it doesnt work or I've ripped it apart for cables/spare hard drives etc over the years, so its complete junk basically, scrap metal/plastic.

How do I get rid of this stuff? I remember hearing about some place you could bring stuff like that for free but cant find any info on it... anyone know? Preferably free as I might have two car loads of it!! Or should I just bring it to the dump?? What's the story with that, I heard ballyogan dump has closed...
