looking to buy a road bike under the C2W scheme - my eye was caught by the Focus Variado Expert Triple which is substantially reduced on Wiggle at the moment (down from €1120 to €840) - would leave me another 160 to get other essentials.

On the other hand I can get a Giant Defy 2.5 in a kit for a grand from Cycle Superstore - this appeals as I honestly haven't much of a clue about buying accessories gear etc.

Is there much of a difference between the 2 bikes? I'm currently riding an old MTB for which the expression "clapped out" could have been invented.

(apologies in advance btw - I know this forum is flooded with "which bike" type threads...)
