Hi, all - i bought a Whirlpool UK Model Dishwasher second hand , washes good works absolutely fine - the odd thing though is the noise it makes after the tub fills up with water at the start of the cycle. Sounds like a trumpet/Tuba then machine Gun lol thats the only way I can describe it. Only at start of cycle and then does not appear for the rest of the cycle all you hear is the normal filling and sloshing a dishwasher makes as its working.

Just wondering what the noise can be - I dont think its the fill solenoid valve, that seems to be opening and shutting OK , and I dont think its the pump because when thats pumping out its quiet and when its washing its quiet so I dont think its the wash motor - but cannot make out what could be causing that strange noise! ?

Model number is: WFC3C33PFXUK and it looks to be an Hotpoint/Indesit made model - similar to the Hotpoint Hotpoint HFC 3C26 WC B UK

I have done a video here and bumped up the sound on the video a little bit:

Hello There.

Ran into a problem before Christmas where my Hotpoint hfc2b19 dishwasher started to over fill fairly regularly and end up drenching the kitchen floor. I took it apart and checked for blockages and there are none and I also put in a new pressure switch just in case and the problem still remains. I'm completely stumped as to why the pressure switch is being activated so late when its the weight of the water that should trigger it at the right time.

Any home appliance boffins on here that may be able to offer some insight on what i am missing?

Thanking you

Hi there. I have an 11 year old Neff dishwasher. The power light will not come on on the Control panel module. There is power to the unit, as when I manually lift the floater (mushroom shaped device on the bottom of the inside of the unit - that opens when water is in the unit to empty the unit) I can hear the pump trying to pump. I have taken out the Door Latch three way switch and checked it out with my multi-meter, and it is fine. I have checked all the connectors for loose wiring. I have also taken off the side panel and checked that the side drain tubes are also clear. I have also checked that the water inlet filter is also clear.

That leaves the control panel module itself as the cause - unless anyone can suggest anything else? I have got the part number and price from NEff/Bosch, and its E113 (or £84.60 online delivered to Belfast Parcel Motel).

Since I am not certain it is the control panel, I am wary of jumping in and buying it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I could check before i buy the control panel. As I said, the on light will not come on the control panel when I push the on/off switch.

Since this is an integrated dishwasher, its a bit of a pain to replace, as it fits into the kitchen units, etc, so it would be good it I can repair it myself before we go out and try to match up with a new one from a shop.

Does it sound like its the Control Panel Module and is there any additional checks I can do to confirm that its the cause of the issue?

Make: NEFF ENR No. S5444X1GB/23
FD No. 8704

Control Panel Module Part is No. 00498513.

The machine in question is a Siemens SE64630.
The symptoms are that the exhaust pump runs continuously and doesn't empty the bottom of the washer.
I have removed all the usual filters and they are clean.
I then saw the pump cover and using a Torex 20 head, I removed the plastic cover to reveal a fan-like thingy (X in attached image) that spins when I put power back on. The residual water is then squirted back into the unit as though the outlet pipe is blocked. I assume the spinning thingy is one end of the pump shaft.
Y and Z (in attached image) appear to be in/out pipes but I assume they have to do with the washing process and not relevant.
My diagnosis is that beyond the X thingy is the pump blade and outlet pipe. That pipe is blocked - I think, maybe. It joins the nearby main kitchen sink outlet which is free and flowing.
My questions:
Is there any point in pushing a thin wire/cable thru' the X and see if I can free the blockage. I am afraid to do it in case I damage the pump.
Is the only alternative to take the whole washer out (it's built-in) and go after the pump from the outside?

Any comments/advice appreciated please.

We have a whirlpool auto sense dishwasher it has 2 auto sense programs for detecting how dirty stuff is and I (suppose) it changes water volume and wash time to clean stuff optimally. one programme is called Normal and has heat indication of 40c-55c ... the other is called 'Intense' and has heat of 60c-70c.

We normally use the 'normal setting' (if stuff has just got normal food on it not baked on food) but the machine gets pretty smelly time after time and after drying there are droplets of water still left on top (even though we use rinse aid).

I did read somewhere that Germs/bacteria can survive/live up to 60c and normally die off after 60c .

Last night I had normally soiled stuff, no greasy pans or anything and I put the Dishwasher on 'Intense' this time - sure the programme was a bit longer (and i dare say used more energy to heat up water to 60c-70) but the plates not only looked cleaner they were dryer after the cycle.

What I want to ask is:

1.) Is it overkill to wash the dishes every night on this setting?

2.) will it over time be better at keeping the dishwasher cleaner of gunk and smells seeing as the heat is 60-70c rather than 40-55c?

3.) will it ruin over time our plates, dishes, cutlery , glasses washing them at temp of 60-70c?

Thanks.

Hi there just become owner of a second hand Whirlpool ADP7406 Dishwasher. Seems to work fine except for when I opened door quickly I noticed bottom spray arm was going around but top arm was not moving. As a test I positioned both spray arms in same position, closed door then opened up the door. Bottom spray arm had moved and top one stayed in the place i left it, but water was pouring out of the holes in the top spray arm for a bit after opening door so water is getting to it. Took out upper spray arm and prodded all holes with a paper clip, a little bit of food in the holes (rice!) but nothing substantial.

Put back in washer still didnt turn around, then took it out again threw caution to the wind and split the top spray arm apart and out fell a bit of black electrical insulation tape!! - how on earth did that get all the way up to the top spray arm? - its beyond me, anyway no wonder it didnt go around with that in it. Tried supergluing it back together, but failed and still not going round

- so now I have just ordered a reconditioned top spray bar from the net. Do you think thats all it needs or is there other common problem on these Whirlpool makes why top arm doesnt spin. If it dont spin round when i get this reconditioned one could it be wash pump fault? - ie not pumping enough force to turn top spray arm? - although if that were the case would not the bottom one not turn around too? - many thanks for help and suggestions, apart from that top arm not spinning it looks a decent machine.

Hi there on a whirlpool ADP7406 Dishwasher if I turn on Machine and put the dial to Pre-Rinse and long press the start button for more than 7 seconds the word 'OFF' shows on the green LED Display and if I press start button again the LED display changes to 2-1 then if I press the start button again it says 3-1 then if I press it again it says 4-1 ... is this a diagnostic test thing or is it to set powder / tablet i.e.: 2 in 1 tablet ? - only I cannot find anything in the instructions about it. I know its not the Salt setting/hard water setting because thats a long press of the start button when the dial is on 'normal' programme. - anyone know please?

Hey, Installing a new Zanussi dishwasher at home so I picked up a plastic Y in heatmerchants. The washing machine hose tightens home nicely but the dishwasher hose won't tighten, its as if the diameter of the nut is slightly too big and it just clicks as if its going to ring off.

These hoses are standard surely? Should I use some ptfe tape or pick up a metal Y?

Thanks lads

Hiya, sorry if this has been answered before, but I can't see it. In light of recent news, I'm interested in finding out how much water is used by my appliances. I've found some wildly varying general claims around the net, but would like to know specifically about the usage of my
Washing machine: Hoover Softwave 100 (more than 10 years old), and
Dishwasher: Tricity Bendix TDF 200 (maybe 7 years old)

Any advice on where to source the info? Thanks

hello I want to check/set our dishwasher up properly for our water in county sligo coming from the Lough Talt water supply. The dishwasher instructions have a Water Hardness Table and what the dishwasher settings should be used. However the Water Hardness table in the Instructions has values of dH / lH /Clarke /mmol/l - but the Water table at the Sligo County Council website only gives the figures: (mg CaCO3/l) http://tinyurl.com/cozfwdd - can someone help me decipher it so I can set the dishwasher to correct setting please.
Hi
The dishwasher turns on ok and starts to drain as normal. Then it starts to turn itself on and off for about a minute. It will then stop doing this and complete the cycle with no further problems. While its turning off and on i've plugged out the pump, inlet valve and a few other things but it stays turning off and on. Is there something pulling down the power? I've checked the pump and drain pipe -all ok.
Product code is 854254015751. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

I'm enquiring about the Door Catch for the Belling IDW 603.

1. Do you know where I may be able to pick this part up in Dublin?

2. Do you know how much this part may cost?

I'm presuming this is what is stopping the dishwasher from working as the door is not closing fully & it will not turn on as the part corroded and broken off the catch.

Appreciate if anyone can help.

Thanks,

Hi, have a slim line Indesit Di 450 Dishwasher.

Recently after a cycle, the glasses are coming out cloudy and the cutlery have rust spots on them (along with rust on the back wall of the dishwasher itself).

Have gone through all the recommendations I could find on this section, change the salt, change the tablets, rinse aid etc, no change.

Have read somewhere that hard water is the problem and I will need a dishwasher filtration system that fits under the sink, it connects up to the hot water line.

The dishwasher has been working fine for the last 6 years and its only in the last 2 months these problems have come up, so what has changed with the water in that time?

two questions,

(1) Are there any other solutions to this problem?

(2) Can anyone recommend a suitable dishwasher filtration system?

Thanks.

I just moved and the dishwasher tray has 2 prongs that have been damaged and are now rusting.
Other than that it is perfect, essentially it appears the prongs rubber coating has broken off the tip and they are rusting, one of them quite badly.

I came across these on amazon.com but the €57 to ship to Ireland rules this option out

http://www.amazon.com/Hamptons-Dishwasher-Prong-Tine-Repair/dp/B002ECYCTM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329994232&sr=8-1

I was wondering if anyone knew a solution, short of buying a new dishwasher tray, to this problem.

Thanks in Advance
