Anyone know what is happening with Insomnia across from the greyhound? They seemed to stop working on it a few months ago?

Saw a sign in the window today "Brewing Soon - Insomnia Blanchardstown "

I saw hoarding up for Solstrene Grene on the old Harry Corry shop next to Dunnes on the lower ground floor in Blanch SC today - due to open in late June.

I've seen their shops on the Continent - they're very like Meadows & Byrne, homeware, gifts and furnishings etc - so will be a really nice addition to the centre I would think.

I think it said it's opening in July on their FB page. Can't wait.

Insomnia opened yesterday. Paid a visit this morning, it's lovely and bright, and surprisingly spacious! Will definitely be back...

Was in there today and it is a great addition and you're spot on - it really is extremely spacious with loads of comfortable seating so great for lingering/relaxing.

On a different note, I tried the M3 Services centre today for the first time to fill up with unleaded this morning and 4 out of the 6 pumps had out of order signs!! WTF??!!:confused::confused:. The queues for the remaining pumps were backed up so I gave up and used my old reliable Esso near Travellodge. I never did get to see the inside of the foodcourt but why on earth could so many pumps be out of order at the same time?! Despite all the complaints here and in passing, the car park was still very busy so it seems to be doing well regardless. Next time I think I'll just use it for food!

They might be still finding their feet in terms of supply and demand? Saturday afternoon they were all open anyway, so they may have been let down by their supplier or just bad or misjudged demand management.

I got €35.00 worth of fuel at the M3 services, paid by debit card at the pump. A day later the transaction showed on my account and a further day after that another transaction with the same POS showed for €1, no rhyme or reason.

Now as i havent been back that way, and life is too short to purposely go in and show them my online account and argue over a quid, i simply wont be going back for fuel. Keep an eye for that one folks.

It's the same system as to how some online retailers or hotels operate, it's like a validity check on your card, it doesn't actually get debited from your card, it's just a pending transaction that's never completed. The €1 should have appeared on your account first, that's how it has worked on mine anyway.

Was it your first time using your card at the pay at pump? I got the €1 transaction the first time I used it, I haven't noticed it on subsequent transactions.

Im sure not related to M3onN3 station card charges but on my business VISA card i had few .99c once a month for 3 months. Then, shortly after,my whole account has been emptied. I guess the fcukers tried to fool the system by giving the trusted transaction / approved supplier status and then go for the big bang, without rasing alarms on the VISA systems.

Yeah, I've seen the test transactions before on accounts that are about to get raided.

Were your 99c transactions from someone that you expected to be debiting your account from?

If the original plans are to be believed then it should be a commercial vehicle sales forecourt.

Anyone know who is opening what looks to be a restaurant on Main St, Blanch just up from the new Insomnia cafe? The frontage looks very attractive but no sign up yet!

I think its meant to be a burger style joint / restaurant, run by one of the owners of Maximilians.

Could do with a nice burger place in the area, and if it is owned by the guy who owns Maximillians, then it should be a nice burger place.

Clonsilla to get a new coffee shop on Weavers Row after An Bord Pleanala granted permission. It appears Spice of India appealed Fingal Co Co's original grant of permission but the Board sided with the applicant.

While I welcome a proper sit down cafe option for Clonsilla, the parking really is a problem in that whole specific area with Spar/post office/Romayo/Italian restaurant combined with the busy junction. I've attempted to pull in several times to get a takeaway etc and had to drive away due to no spaces.

Went past it tonight, there was a pallet of charcoal being delivered so looks like it, should be open in the next few days I'd say.

Søstrene Greene opening in the towncentre in old harry corry.

I never knew of it before but looks like a mix of tiger and ikea at nice prices - nice stuff. Looks good!

Looks like a very nice addition to the towncentre.

There's one in Dun Laoghaire too. My in-laws live over that direction and when it was opening they picked up a brochure to show me. I couldn't get over how cheap everything was. Really looking forward to having a look at the one in Blanch.

I'm actually the one who set up the Facebook Page for the owner. I'm currently working on the website. As far as I know he's hoping to be open by this weekend. I've seen the interior and it looks nice. There's a big charcoal oven alright so it will specialise in grilled food. I haven't seen the menus yet but I'd say I'll get them in the next day or so. Will put them on the FB page as soon as I get them.

Any sign of the menus? Given that it opens from 10 on Saturday and Sundays I'm presuming (hoping) they'll be doing brunch.

Just saw the menus on the website. Looks good, but the desserts are €9. Feck that.

Not just the desserts. It's all pretty expensive.

Absolutely, but the desserts just jumped out at me. The brunch menu is okay price wise. I never order a fry so I'm not sure if €12.50 is expensive or not, but pancakes for €6.50 is pretty good. Depends on how many you get though!

Mattress Mick opening up in the old auto shop in Tyrellstown.

Now saying on FB that the €9 was a typo and they're actually €7.50. Typo my posterior, chancing their arm more like. €7.50 is still pricey IMO!
