MvG just beat Wright 6-4 in the German masters. Wright was 4-2 up and took out a D18 D18 finish and a 158 to go into the lead but lost his way a bit after missing 100 when he hit a single one which would have seen him go 5-2 up. MvG found his rhythm after that leg and the win looked inevitable after that. The walk on girls also deserve a special mention....fúcking savage some of them!

The worst I've seen van Gerwen play in 4 or 5 years and Peter still couldn't beat him..I'm now convinced Peter will never win a TV tournament. A better version of Jenkins

Wright threw that away against Lewis. Missed a heap of darts to win 7-5. Lewis was hardly trying he was so far back.

One thing annoys me is the lack of recognition for 171's. Both players hit one and there wasn't a murmur from the crowd.
I know 180's are the signature score but personally apart from my first 180 I get much more satisfaction hitting a 171 162 or 153 than a 180.

    Hello all,
I am wondering, and would be grateful if anyone knows a site where I can get info re. no. of 180s, highest checkout, match average etc. on the premier league darts matches. It is in relation to a Hat-trick market PP offer so I wouldn't have to take their word for it! Enjoy the matches tonight.

Stopped watching this about 6 weeks ago, it's got pretty boring.

The Wright/Anderson match last night had a bit of excitement but I only now watch this if I stumble across it while channel surfing.

It's a bit like that. A few seasons back you were inclined to make time to watch, not I watch it when I happen to remember.

There are still some good games and like you say Wright and Anderson had a good battle last night but in general it doesn't hold the same attraction as before.

Few blowouts tonight. Already on last game

I agree, I hardly ever watch it anymore. I'll make sure to watch the Playoff night but otherwise it's just a poor tournament and a glorified exhibition.

As has been the case all season I only remembered it last night when I say a story about it on a sports page. When I put it on it was a rerun of MvG and Barney. 4 routs...it was all over in no time last night!

Anderson, MvG and Taylor in the semi's. It remains to be seen who'll get through between Wright and Lewis. Lewis has Anderson who has nothing to play for as he's anchored in 3rd place and Wright has Barney who also has nothing to play for.

A win for Lewis and he's through. A draw would need Wright to win and win big as Lewis is +5 on legs and Wright is 0. Wright could also qualify if he draws and Lewis is whitewashed.
If they finish level on points and legs then it's legs won against throw where Lewis is +4 over Wright.

It's in Holland so Barney will be motivated to put on a show for his home fans

I only caught Taylor and MvG. Taylor didn't play great but hung in there against a fairly nervous MvG in front of his home crowd. He really wanted to win and he looked fairly tense throughout.

The darts in general were nothing special tonight, some really poor at times. There was 'complaints' and a breeze on the stage from the first two matches, not too sure it they sorted it for the following two.

Taylor to win It I think. He needs a big win and this well could be his last chance

Overall a good league enjoyed febs Dublin night and hopefully will go next year again

I think either MvG or Anderson will do it. If Phil does get past Anderson then i'd expect MvG to have too much for him in the final.

As much as I dislike him, I think Adrian Lewis will beat Anderson in the final

Would love to see Lewis beat MVG!

Hard to call tonight, top 4 players in the world, if any of them bring their A game they can win.

The green machine is the one who brings it the most often though and it's hard to look past him.

Not too great a standard so far.

MVG missing a ton of doubles, it's up for grabs here if one of them can hit a purple patch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,315 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Yep he turned it on after the break.

When he's on nobody can live with him.

Having fun discussing it on my own. :pac:

Don't be lonely MD! Michael is gonna steamroll his way through this year's tournaments unless the rest get their act together. Floor tournament wise he's cleaning up also. It's so effortless, marvellous to watch.
