Drinking your way around Ireland

I'm talking about beer here. It seems nearly every county now has some sort of brewery (I'm not sure about Co. Clare).

Just for fun, what counties have you had beer from? Has anyone had something from each county yet?
Obviously this will be easier to figure out if you keep track of the beers you drink!

Burren Brewery is in Clare. Westmeath, Laois, Kilkenny and Armagh all lack working breweries right now, AFAIK.

    Ok, never heard of them!
For Laois there's 12 acres unless I'm mistaken?
Although this may be cheating somewhat you could use Smithwicks for Kilkenny and MacIvors cider for Armagh.
    That would only leave Westmeath?

Not a brewery (yet): the beers come from 9 White Deer in Cork.

While the brewery is there, it's not operational. Smithwick's is just a label used for beer brewed in Dublin.

One of several cider makers in Armagh, but cider isn't brewed and doesn't involve breweries.

Of the remaining 28 counties, I'm missing just Clare.

    Antrim - Hilden
    Carlow - O'Hara's
    Cavan - Ó Cléirigh
    Clare - nope (Burren)
    Cork - Eight Degrees
    Derry - Northbound
    Donegal - Kinnegar
    Down - Farmageddon
    Dublin - Rascal's
    Fermanagh - Inishmacsaint
    Galway - Galway Hooker
    Kerry - Torc
    Kildare - Trouble
    Leitrim - Carrig
    Limerick - JJ's
    Longford - St. Mel's
    Louth - Jack Cody's
    Mayo - Mescan
    Meath - Brú
    Monaghan - Brehon
    Offaly - Bo Bristle
    Roscommon - Black Donkey
    Sligo - White Hag
    Tipperary - White Gypsy
    Tyrone - Red Hand
    Waterford - Metalman
    Wexford - Yellow Belly
    Wicklow - O Brother

    Fun exercise!

I am one behind the Beer Nut. I've not had a Mayo beer yet, nor the Clare beer. Have had the rest though.

    Clare actually has two breweries!

Western Herd brew in Kilmaley and have a brew pub in Ennis where the long suffering Clare man can finally happily wet his whistle with glorious hops.

They're running two brewkits, or do you just mean they own a pub?

My bad - yeah it is just a pub in Ennis.

Cork - Eight Degrees, Franciscan Well, Black's of Kinsale & Mountain Man
    Donegal - Kinnegar
    Down - Whitewater
Dublin - JW Sweetman & Porterhouse
Galway - Galway Hooker, Galway Bay & Independent Brewing Co.
Kerry - Killarney Brewing & Kenmare Brewing
Kildare - Trouble & Rye River (McGargles & Colgans)
    Louth - Jack Cody's & Boyne Brewhouse
Mayo - Mescan & Oilean Eadaigh West Mayo Brewery
    Meath - Brú
    Monaghan - Brehon
    Offaly - Bo Bristle
    Roscommon - Black Donkey
    Sligo - White Hag
    Tipperary - White Gypsy
    Tyrone - Pokertree
    Waterford - Metalman

How about actually drinking your way around Ireland? i.e. have you had a Mayo beer in Mayo, a Kerry beer in Kerry etc.?

Where do you see mention of a brewery there?

    It says
Our good friends in Kildare allow us use their shiny brewery, until our own is up and running later this year.
And as far as I know that's still the case. I'd heard he'd got a premises but I don't think Costello's is a real brewery yet. If my information is out of date, do let me know.

Also in Clare, Fitzpatricks bar in Hotel Doolin have a 'local' beer called Dooliner. Not sure where it's brewed though.

    Five to go.
    1. Antrim - Hilden. Mountain Ash was one of the first Irish brews that I've ever tried.
    2. Armagh - Clanconnell, they are allegedly in Craigavon.
    3. Cavan - Not yet.
    4. Carlow - Carlow Brewing (O'Hara's)
    5. Clare - Burren Brewery. Eaten there as well and it's well worth the visit for their seafood.
    6. Cork - Radic Ale
    7. Derry - Not yet.
    8. Donegal - Kinnegar and Donegal; the Kinnegar brewery tour is excellent.
    9. Down - Whitewater and Fox Rock
    10. Dublin - Five Lamps
    11. Fermanagh - Inishmacsaint.
    12. Galway - N 17 and many from the Oslo bar range
    13. Kerry - Torc, West Kerry
    14. Kildare - Kelly's ale
    15. Kilkenny - Not yet.
    16. Laois - Not Yet.
    17. Leitrim - Carrig
    18. Limerick - Not Yet
    19. Longford -St. Mel's
    20. Louth - Jack Cody's, Boyne.
    21. Mayo - I have had porter taken from the vat at the West Mayo Brewery.
    22. Meath - Brú
    23. Monaghan - Brehon
    24. Offaly - Bo Bristle
    25. Roscommon - Black Donkey and technically Galway Hooker :pac:
    26. Sligo - White Hag
    27. Tipperary - White Gypsy
    28. Tyrone - Pokertree
    29. Waterford - Metalman
    30. Wicklow - O Brother & Wicklow Wolf
    31. Westmeath - Stonebarrel.
    32. Wexford - Blackstairs

    Five to go.
    Or maybe a bit more...
Armagh - Clanconnell, they are allegedly in Craigavon.
Brewed at Hilden, so Co. Antrim.
    Cork - Radic Ale
Mostly brewed in Dublin; the pale ale is the only Cork one, I think, brewed at Black's.
    Dublin - Five Lamps
Unless it was the lager because that's brewed in Tipperary by C&C.
    Galway - N 17
Mostly from Reel Deel in Mayo these days; was Black's in Kinsale before that.
    Louth - Jack Cody's, Boyne.
As mentioned above, Boyne Brewhouse is in Meath.
    technically Galway Hooker
So long as it was pre-2014 :pac:
    Westmeath - Stonebarrel.
Eh? Where'd you pull that from? Anyway: no. Brewed in Dublin these days, was from England before that.
    Wexford - Blackstairs
    Brewed in Kildare at Trouble.
