agreed, guessing it's the tricolour that's appealing

why would you have a negative stem with that amount of risers under the arm rests? flat stem with less risers would do the same (longer stem possibly). only reason for this would be to get the base bar lower, but how often do the track cyclists spend out of the aero position?(honest question)

edit: doh. silly question. its a 3t bar , the risers come in fixed lengths.

Look 695, 2011 model. One of the nicest road bikes ever built.

Not sure if this is what you're asking tbh, but your base bar needs to be pretty low when you're launching from the gate, hence the negative angle stem. We don't get to roll out like in TTs or whatever, we have to start with a hard sprint so you wanna be low. If it's too high you can't get the same leverage.

Then your other bars are at whatever height you need to stick into aero and be comfortable.

it was indeed. didn't know how much the base bar was used on track so appreciate the answer. makes sense

Ok, cool. Many pursuit bars would be bent downwards anyway, like the first rider in this pic

    Melbourne_Track_World_Cup2009.jpg

I use these kind of bars and still use a negative stem. The furthest you have to pursuit in track is 4km, so 4.5 mins and less for the pros and maybe 5.5 or more for amateurs so your position just needs to be optimally aero while allowing your lungs to still fill up. Comfort is not a major priority... it's important of course, but I don't think it'd be the same priority if one were in the saddle for a half hour, y'know

I think if you put those Lightweight wheels on a shopping trolley it would look good. I love them.
Not taking from the bike, it is a looker.

Looks like a half unwrapped Christmas present.
Not a mad fan of these coloured stems. They should follow the outer housing colour rule.......black!!!

Seat mast toppers are ugly. They even sound ugly. I had hoped the trend had died.

Usually like lightweight wheels. But they don't do anything for that bike

Frame size to wheel depth ratio is just all wrong

The Meilenstein would have suited much better.
