Does someone know a dentist who can do the montly maintenance of braces that weren't put by him/her?
This includes replacing the rubbers and the wires, it's a simple task...
I phoned a few dentists but no one seams to be willing to do it.
I'm asking because I put my braces in Portugal, but cannot go back once a month for the appointments...

That's not maintenance, that's actual orthodontic treatment.
It's too messy& complicated to get involved with another practitioners' work- who takes responsibility if you're not happy with the final result, how do you sort the fees between them as the treatment progresses , who manages any complications that arise (root resorption, loss of vitality ect), the hassle of making contact & communicating every month with someone in a different timezone for whom presumably Portuguese is their preferred method of communicating technical terms, ect ect.....Nightmare.
There might be some brave soldier out there. If not, it's all or nothing & you'll have to commit to one practitioner & one treatment plan.

I would advise going back to portugal. If you prebook the fliughts they will be cheap enough. It was not a good idea to move mid treatment, and it is unlikely that an orthodontist here will continue treatment at anything less than full treatment fee. Replacing the wires is easy, knowing what wire to replace it with is the hard part, to undervalue this is to undervalue the treatment.
