Hi, didnt see any thread on this, Macklin trying to get back on the horse.
Hes looking a bit sluggish here in the first 3 rounds in Birmingham but not a bad fight so far.

    Any one watching?

Tough night at the office for Macklin, entertaining fight but he looked quite sluggish and got caught with too many. Dont know if he will ever step up to world level again.

Going down in weight may not have suited him.

Too many excuses for Macklin, he's just a bang average fighter.

Macklin is shot. He would have blasted him out in a couple of rounds a few years ago. The writing was on the wall since he went life and death with a journeyman in Germany a few fights back. Time to hang em up.

Agreed with people saying hes finished. Aside from Alcine, which didnt tell us a huge amount, when was the last time he actually put in a good performance? Its years surely. Seems like a nice enough guy but always has an excuse.

What are the odds on Liam Smith jumping to matchroom to join his brothers, and Eddie Hearn making a "huge world title fight" between Smith and Macklin, on a PPV card with Bellew

Sounds exactly like something Hearn would do. And if I'm perfectly honest, I get the feeling that is the reason Macklin moved down because he has no business at the weight. The reason he moved up all those years ago after Moore was because it was killing him to make weight.
