Whatever happened with Michu at Swansea? The club cannot give him away at the moment.

Found out and maybe terminally broken. Had a very serious ankle injury two years ago, hasn't been the same since.

Doubtful there isn't much of any rumours with 5 hours to go, the very fact other clubs in Europe can't sign any replacements means English clubs will either get their pants pulled down on the fee or told where to go. John Walters will be the transfer saga I'd say, looking forward to seeing Jim White spin this one.

Every deadline day is 'the worst deadline day ever' it seems. Plenty happening.

Small time final day by the looks of it.

Charlie Austin staying at QPR it seems.

Surprised nobody took a chance on him, think he's a decent CF!

    Yes very good CF.

Hasn't he failed a couple of medicals before though? £15m is a big risk for a midtable club to risk.

Berbatov is a free agent, United?

What kind of wages is Austin on? I'd have at least expected a loan similar to Remy at Newcastle when QPR last dropped down.

Looks like the deal is definitely dust. Real teaching Utd a lesson?

Remy wanted out though. Austin doesn't seem the kind of guy to rock the boat - QPR spent a lot of money on him when other clubs were scared off by his medical results and it seems QPR were very open and upfront with him that they'd let him go if someone met the £15m price.

With Euro 2016 coming up he may regret not being an arse about it.

4 hours and 58 minutes left

As things stand Liverpool, Arsenal, City and Man Utd are not signing anyone else and Chelsea are after a centre back, Spurs are considered a final push for Berahino and that's about it among the bigger clubs.

Would think so. United need this deal more than Madrid. They will still take him in the January or next summer. The fact that they are not even going to appeal says alot.

United do not need this deal. Where is that notion coming from.

yeah, united need the money, who cares about they massive sponsorship deals they have, the fact we have 3 other keepers, but they showed us by not wantiung to spend money on a player and then when they do make a bid we still keep a world class keeper, poor united

I really don't get all the negativity around Austin.

I know he failed a medical previously but the guy's played close to forty games in each of the last six seasons as a professional footballer. He's hardly Andy Carroll.

Plus he's a proven goalscorer in the Prem, even more impressive considering how crap QPR were last year.

Money seems to be the only obstacle but I think he'd be worth a punt. I'd be happy to have him at Chelsea.

The fact that they'll now lose him on a free I guess. This was the best deal United were going to get.

It is mainly about insurance. That is what medicals are for. Some clubs just won't be able to get cover for a player if they fail a medical.

They are now stuck with a keeper that does not want to be there. And will lose out on alot of money when he finally moves.

You keep him, but will he play and then lose him for nothing next year.

I think both clubs have lost out in the deal but it's certainly created a problem for United now.
