Cheers man. If the car was filthy that was me I'd say :pac: I usually hit Adare around that time in the evenings. Not too many wine S60's around here.

I'm not stalking you I swear! We were in the good room just opposite the dunraven. Food is unreal if you ever feel like treating yourself on the way home from work. It didn't look too dirty but then again I can't remember the last time I washed my car so I'm not one to see dirt on others cars!

Don't ever set foot in the detailing forum so :D

I got my car valeted a few weeks ago and the bloke who did it is fierce fussy and as it rained after he did it, he got me to bring it back to wash out the rain spots a few days later

Then when I was going out, it had that lovely beading, I was fierce tempted to take a picture of it and post it in detailing to show that my car is loved.

    Heehee

Oooh thats a risky one! :D

I have answered this question successfully and unsuccessfully so many times before but cannot for the life of me remember what I said. Why do American companies have to make the interview process such a pain!

It's a bull**** question. I didn't think anyone asked it these days unless they were using an old edition of the "colouring by numbers" interview book. They replaced it with a newer standard bull**** question but I can't remember what it is, and it has probably changed again since.

Ask them how they encourage training, mentoring and professional development and if the pension is defined benefits. Then just sit back and go "well, there you go... all the answers for where I'll be in 5 years are there..."

Of course real life doesn't work like that unfortunately.

Some companies just love the dog and pony show version of interviews. Or the "gang bang" interview - 4 hours of being tag teamed without so much as a glass of water.

Then again, some are professional about it - technical interview for technical role, HR double check to make sure you're not a latent maniac.

Hopefully you get the latter type!

Currently preparing for an interview for an American multinational tomorrow. So many potential questions, so many possible answers and not enough brain space!

"Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"

    Fcuked if I know!

    good luck mr goodman

    it will be grand :)

If anybody wants a nice driving road, mine road from Enniskillen to Ballyshannon is absolutely stunning. Lovely mixture of road surfaces, wide range of twisties and some lovely views of the surrounding lakes and mountains.
One lake, very big one you saw. Lower Lough Erne, 42 km long. :)

    I'd highly recommend it.
Same here, I really like that road.

I just heard there are NCB accelerator policies, where you get 1 year NCB every 10 months. I guess that's only in UK though. :/

Didn't know when you ordered from Mr auto that the parts came from abroad. Waiting ages. First and last time using them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,718 ✭✭✭Hal1

Just do a search on here for 'mister auto'. A lot of stories about huge delays and missing parts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,972 ✭✭✭Chris_Heilong

I dont want to say anything yet, I want to give him the benefit of the doubt

Its an Irish crowd anyway, he said he had a shipment coming in last Friday and he was going to ship them to me that day. I didnt get them but have contacted him about it, will see if he responds tomorrow or not but if they are going to be delayed he should just let me know.

Ah great. I can picture one brake disc and one half of a brakepad coming in the door Christmas week.

Saw aHuaracan today; rare even for my neighbourhood. That said, the plates suggest a Gallardo Spyder so I guess it takes a while to re reg or else someone lashed those plates on it while it was being used in a photo shoot. Looks very good in orange and you can't say that about many cars.y

They do take a while, they come from Belgium iirc, they normally arrive in about a week.

For the prices of some of their stuff, I'm willing to wait.

Ordered 2 trw upper arms for my car on sat, I'm expecting them fri or Monday, we'll see.

Edit: €157 inc shipping. That would get me 1 trw arm and an air freshener from Alfa.

I think I've figured out my mysterious accelerator shudder at specific speed problems on the accord :)

I let my lack of paitence get the better of me in my earlier post. I want my stuff last week dammit! :P This was waiting for me when I got home. Still didn't know the stuff came from Belgium though.

You just better hope it's not coming in multiple parcels on different days :p

Well? Are you going to tell us what it is?? Or is it secret :pac:

Multiple parcels yes (2), different days no. Two barcodes in the item 1 and 2 part on the "we tried to deliver your stuff in the five minutes no one was in your house" docket as expected. I know its not an posts fault but this happens far too often for me not to blame someone else :pac:

At least I can finally book the car in with my mechanic tomorrow an book a re test. Would normally tackle the job myself but forking over at least €70 for an inner tie rod tool that will NEVER be used again makes me sad and I've a busy weekend ahead so couldn't be arsed this time round.

So, next on the list is inner tie rods, track rod ends, drop links, ball joints, pads and discs. The car only failed on an inner tie rod but sure if the wheels are off....

    :D

Ah well I probably sound as mad as a box of frogs but here goes

I seem to be not yet entirely adjusted to the upside down accelerator and driving the accord like I do the Merc

In the merc easing off on the accelerator slows it down visibly whereas in the accord it drops the revs until it gets to a point where it changes

Today I made an effort to brake to slow while easing off the accelerator and I'd no shudder

I've also noticed that when oh drives he's much heavier than me on the accelerator so I suspect I'm used to a softer pedal than in the accord
