Next time your getting into your car drop a box of nails by accident and refuse to help change her wheel

I'll give it a try, sound. I want it for the grills as I don't fancy spending €50-60 on a set and not liking them.

Have a bottle of matt black. Don't think it was even used. It's in a box somewhere due to a house move but I have no use for it as I got the bits wrapped instead.

Temporary daily while Golf gets back to its former glory and beyond.

But I'm quite happy with it. I made it look better already, and will make it even nicer and hopefully I'll sell it on with a profit in a few months.

Any boardsies wanna call dibs on it? :P

Would anyone be up for a mini meet in/near Cork this weekend? I might be going down there to pick something up.

I would anyway but depends on the day/time. I'm working Saturday evening and Sunday morning so a bit awkward.

Total cost for nct prep in parts €970.
That included a few bmw tools, a diff, 2 shocks, all new front bushings, rear camber bushings, poly rear trailing arm bushings, 4 new tyres, proper exhaust mounts and a service :)

Hopefully it won't want it next year :)

    Right
Let's try this a different way since an admin delted my last posting.

You've been driving around in that car needing all that work?

No it needed one balljoint in the front but the rest couldn't have been that far behind so i pulled both out and done a total rebuild.

The shock was copped as burst at the weekend while at this. Fair weep coming from it.

The poly bushes are a PM job. I should never need to touch them again. 2 powerflex bushings being installed.

The camber bush was a touch loose and i didn't want a retest if possible so i replaced it.

Tyres, i put very good track tyres on the front and decent tyres on the rear.
All four would have passed the test but i wanted a lower profile as I'm planning to lower the car substantially.

So there we go, It wanted very little. Most was preventative :)

    And the diff?
I seem to remember you make reference to driving on a non open diff.

    Limited slip no voter.
They can be severely damaged during the brake testing phase of the test.
    Best not chance it.

Most NCT brake tests spin both front wheels, it's only if they spin one wheel and not the other it can do damage i think.

There's no issue with them spinning the front wheels, silly non-rwd peasant :pac:

A labour of love and all that malarkey!
It stands me a lot and it'll stand me more before its done but i don't plan on selling it.

So i don't mind spending the few bob :)
I want it to be perfect. Engine and suspension etc is about right now but the body is still mediocre. Bumpers are in bits.
    It'll get there :)

Well if you have a fwd lsd, do they brake test all four wheels seperately or ?

Any LSD is exempt from using the rollers. They can do a brake test outside using a decelerometer.

Is the onus on the tester or the person presenting the car to know that it has an lsd?

I thought your ST Supergurrier would have a LSD.

In other news related to the current topic here is my 520i just passed the NCT with flying colours.
