Fun diff removed, sad times :(

All new bushings in the front though to complement the new rubber :)

Tired and sore, have learned my lesson to just buy whole wishbones and not bushings in future!

So you have a normal open diff now should be easier on gearbox now so. And I have a feeling the welded diff caused the half shaft to break.

I never had a welded diff guard ;)
It surely did, not really on its own but rather the outcome of using it for what its for.

Car is lovely on the road now though!

One of the lads bought an ex boardsies e30 325i today. Got a quick spin out of it, what a lovely car! The first BMW i've ever really appreciated.

Generally I'd take the reg and head down to the local building site. ;)

Roy Keane stare + firm "No!"+ note reg (on the off chance it's genuine)

Cleaning gutters is the only "service" I've been offered in a long time. Previously it was inquiries about general scrap or cash for cars.

Had the oil changed today in the 156. (cheers DZ!) After 6000 miles over 4 litres came out of the sump. I'm very happy with that, the engine is burning literally no oil! It was very fresh looking too which is good.

Probably have to change it in another 6 weeks again anyway...! :D

I never really understood people when they said car shopping was stressful but I understand now. I have the money in my pocket, the time to look for something, but theres just nothing decent for sale

Hehe. Strap yourself in, love. You in for a ride!
Most fun part I'm car shoping is when you don't have actual money or not decided yet.
When you got money in your pocket and ready to buy it becomes a fecking torture.
    A. Merphies law. No cars to buy when you have actual money.
    B. The amount of idiot or chance sellers will make you lose faith in humanity.
    C. You see that pike of cash in your hand and think: so much cash! It looks lovely. I don't want to give it to anyone!!!
    D. You change your mind more often then heavily pregnant woman.

Had a lovely spin down to Limerick yesterday morning, and back up again this evening. You nearly have the motorway to yourself for about 10 miles once it starts at Gort. Been too long since I've done motorway driving, forgot how relaxing it is! Up to 120, stick her into cruise, and sit back and relax. So much easier compared to my day to day driving. Only came across 1 fast lane hogger, but they soon moved in, and one dunce cutting straight from the overtaking lane out through the exit at the last second. Not bad for 100 odd motorway/dual carriageway miles, considering all the stories you do hear.

It will be even better when they finish the Tuam bypass and build the road from Tuam to Gort.

Ya, you can see they've a lot done with the bypass in Tuam, even started a few spots near Gort too.

    Yeah, hers :)

Really cool car, grrat fun to drive and sounds excellent, timeless looking car too, very mean looking.

Seems great mechanically but it needs a fair auld bit of tidying up body and interior wise.

    Question for you all petrolheads:

Would you rent a sports car (BMW E92 M3, Nissan 370Z and the likes) for about €180-300 quid for a whole day?

Car is yours for 24 hours, you can experience the power, handling etc.

If anyone knows the pier hotel in Limerick you'd probably be familiar with their carpark. It's a disaster. Half carpark half storage. Saw a guy reverse into an empty beer keg. Christ those things can really make ****e of a bumper if you hit them hard enough.

If I can take it to a track, then yes.

Or you could do one of those car experience things where they let you drive a bunch of different sports cars on a track.

Beautiful to drive and handle quite nicely.
    God jesus they are slow.

At 150bhp they are only 20ish bhp off my car. You'd think they were no more than 100bhp the way they go!

They ain't worth it for the cost of the fuel when you could have more fun for the same consumption.

Was chatting away with the uncle last night. He used to tinker away with cars but had to stop due to his health. He has a huge collection of tools that are in his lock up unused. Told me to make a trip up and take whatever I want. He even gave me an air compressor. I feel like Im after winning the lotto.

Yeah I would man, but there can't be any engine limiters or anything.
If I'm paying for the car it has to be the total car and I can do what I want.
    That seems super cheap.

That sounds silly cheap. I presume that is sans insurance, and you'll have to fill it up with fuel too giving it back

Best thing to do, put on a nice suit, shave, get a nice haircut and walk into Charles Hurst or Paddy Connolly in Dublin, extended test drive :pac:

Driving around Dublin, I wouldn't bother. If I was up in the Dolomites now, I'd consider it.

Nothing special, but took a few snaps of the wedding car at a wedding I was at. A 3.0 chrysler, very tidy, quite large tyres. I think you can see my car in the background.

Didn't bother going near the city at all. Went from my door to the door of the hotel, total of 110.5 miles, in 1 hour 58 mins, that included a 5 minute break. Was good going, but traffic was quiet enough.
