I don't think being able to park it is the issue its everyone else's parking skills and people whacking door of your car and all that is annoying. We have giant spaces in work it's great you can fling the door open and not hit the car beside you.

The mondeo has a quare slope on the back window, such a long parcel shelf. Must get the protractor out tomorrow, I bet it's less than 45 degrees anyway!

Ordered a clutch Friday in the local motor factors. €295. offered to pay for it there and then to ensure i got it, the chap behind the counter insisted i pay Monday when i pick it up. went in to pick it up, he didn't order it because he "thought i wasn't serious".

car is going for the engine swap tomorrow and now i have no clutch kit!! This is exactly what i wanted to avoid!!

    fuccccccck sake.

When you get that kit, hop it off that gobsh*te and tell him no, you were right I wasn't serious about putting it in a car.

Thats unbelieveably piss poor form

i usually buy bits there and they are always ok to deal with, i understood they would be cagey about ordering an expensive part for a cash customer, but still. i'm snookered now. rang around a few other places and nobody has one off the shelf.

i wonder is a 1.8 avensis clutch the same? i think when people hear celica 190, they trail off, that said i understand it's part number based and if they have it, they have it.

The local MF here can get you parts in that day if your in early, or the following lunchtime at the latest. Maybe worth ringing around a few. Might even deliver it to the garage for you.

Ive never had that trouble myself and i am exclusively a cash customer when i buy my parts. I do buy weird stuff and all (marea elec mirror switches come to mind)

Whack the original part number into toyotapartscatalogue and see what else it fits. That site has taken me out of several holes in the past!

Vvti i know would be the same for a standard vvti Celica but seeing as you have the 193bhp I'm not sure...

There's a great parts chap in Mooneys who supplies quite a bit of Nissan Honda and Toyota parts even though they are Hyundai main dealer. Might be worth ringing them and asking, he's usually on the ball and has quite a few contacts in the trade..

Change your motor factors! That's unacceptable. I know the one I use can get parts for 2pm if I ring before 10am. So someone should be able to get one for you by tomorrow surely.

just took the clutch disc part number, says it's used in the corolla verso (plausable), mr2, (plausable) and the yaris (do-not-trust).

the release bearing is in everything from a carina 2 to a 2006 rav4!

seems likely but yet so unlikely.

Its unreal what will fit and won't fit. While the discs would fit the driveshafts probably wouldn't interchange! Versos are pure nightmares gearbox wise :(

Yaris D4D/1.5, maybe they would be the same. Really helps when the engine and box are side by side. Although a starter on a Yaris is physically the same size if not slightly bigger than an Avensis 1.8 starter

    bit the bullet, rang toyota.

good news, a full toyota kit is actually coming in at 175+vat vs. motor factors 295+vat.

bad news, parts are in belgium, 3 day delivery.

    may keep phoning.

    120e markup.

    Talk about dickheads :(

Micks garage priority delivery could be an option if the garage are a bit flexible. It says 1-2 days delivery time. You could put the garage down as the delivery address. Coming in at 260 euro for a lucs kit delivered.

just bizzare because you never consider the main dealers 99% of the time based on price, but €120 more for a spurious kit is nuts.

looks like a 1.6/ 1.8 vvti avensis kit will do. time to call all the people i've already phoned with a different voice this time :pac:
