It was not a personal dig at all, no moreso than calling a mk3 megane bland or boring or words to that effect anyway. I wouldn't be into personal digs, or arguing in general.

Anyway, don't want to fall out with either of you. Two good contribitors to the forum.

Long day yesterday apologies for being short with you, wasn't intentional.

A drive of your Celica might change my opinion of Toyota anyhow....:D

    It's Friday, so fcuk arguing.

I think you should adopt this attitude for every day of the week that ends in "y" ;)

In motoring news I've just picked the car up from the garage. New front discs and pads fitted. I didn't realise how ****e the old ones were. Sadly the upper wishbone failed to arrive. Won't be in until I'm on holidays next week.

I used the champix tablets to come off the fags. Did it in the middle of a very stressful time for me as well so I was doubly impressed by them.
They're the best thing to take, but Christ they're expensive (not that I'm complaining)
They're covered on the medical card, but if I was leo, I'd be making them free for all.
The health benefits would make it more than cost effective to do so.

Guys, be careful with these, the side effects can be dangerous.

Thats the maddest thing I've done....run the dublin marathon without training (the longest I ran before hand that year had been 10 mile and I hadn't run since the first week in september).....my legs gave up after kilmainham and hobbled the last 12 miles or so.
Go for it, you'll finish it if you can get it into your head that you'll finish it :D

hmmm yea i can do 5k easy but thats where my natural fitness stops completely. gammy feet ,ankles, back, shoulders and wrists :D

. and your right about finishing it being mentally strong as i was thinking of running it for a charity and that way id finish it even if i was crawling on my hands and knees:cool:

I'm overweight, over 30 and under active. A disastrous mix if I let it continue. I sorted the weight before but it all creeped back on over time. Add in high colestorol and high blood pressure and I'm a walking future heart attack waiting to happen.

Sadly I find it impossible to organise myself to sort it all. Its very easy to say drop the fork or just run but I allow to life get in the way.

ah sh1t bro ive been meaning to get my colerstal tested too never have once and im mid 30s underweight and underactive too. got my blood pressure tested and it was normal thankfully.. i eat more junk food than healthy tho:o

I've just dug out Citroen Car Club mags going back to the mid 70's, at least 100 of them if not more coming up along the years.

Any use to anyone, or of any value?

Was filling up this morning, a 131 galaxy came into the garage for petrol, smoke coming out of underneath it. Turns out the (American) driver drove all the way from the airport with the handbrake on.

I think flash for cash got me in Athlone. Was a bit blinded by the sun to notice him up ahead.

All drugs have side effects though and compared to a lifetime of cigarettes, the side effects of champix are miniscule.

Actually I was in a petrol station a few days ago and it was busy out someone was pulled up at one of the pumps in a new insignia no one in the car looked as if they were in the shop getting a few bits and pieces car left idling away with people filling up around it I know it's a diesel but still.

Also got lead on a nice little project in work today moving up the ladder slowly but surly :pac: it does make for a very busy weekend though.

I don't call extreme depression and a suicide attempt minuscule!
Obviously worked for you, I'm just advising caution to people thinking of using it.

I will admit the champix did give me very odd dreams and the nausea was cruel if you took one on an empty stomach but 4 years later smoke free is worth it.

In other news, I saw a English reg bright yellow Lamborghini gallardo in the eastway business park in Limerick today. They're quite a small little car.

Happened to catch up behind a 'flat out' hyundai garda car with blue lights on near straffan today. Weird. My fuel light was on and I was tired and hungry so wasnt even going as fast as I normally do. Tempted to tip along after them but thought better of it.

If your off the real ones completely you've mpre or less quit. I know people who vape to keep them going between fags though :pac:. I'm off them 2 years in october. Just went cold turkey. ****in horrible. I was prepared for not being able to sleep because I wanted a smoke but not the stomach cramps and physical stuff I wasn't expecting. Never read up on it or anything beforehand. Headache, nausea and some weird **** weeks on into it.

Well that explains a **** load over the past week. I dreamt I was driving to my mates wedding again in Poland last week but there was a major snow storm of packing bubbles that started to fill the car through the air vents.

I've had a few beers and no smokes tonight.

Gave up smoking years ago when I was 18. Started when i was 12. Lungs are fúcked anyway. When i used to go on jogs a year or two ago. I would have bad breathing. hard to explain but like breathing when you have a bad chest infection really loud gasps coming from your lungs.

    It's an addictive topic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

Hmm, I have tried a smoke or two on occasion but never really seen what the big deal is, or how people get addicted to it... I really don't.
