Not much interested in the fanfare of this 'novelty event', just the opportunity to tag a a x3+ simple multiplier on the end of the weekly accumulator.

    Some notes & stats:
    • Alice has emerged as the unlikely favorite for the baby's name.
    • Odds on Alice have been cut to 6/4 from 32/1 in just a few weeks
    • British newspapers have calculated that Princess Alice could cost the betting firms as much as £500,000 in payouts.
    • Alice has overtaken other royal favorites, such as Elizabeth and Charlotte -- both at 6/1.
    • Gambling firms are now offering odds of 8/15 that Will and Kate's second child will be a girl, and 11/8 for a boy.
    • As for boys, James -- the name of Kate's younger brother -- is attracting most money, at odds of 8/1.
    • Although the number of royal baby bets is lower than when Kate gave birth to George, betting companies are hoping interest will pick up this week.
    • Last time, the odds proved to be a reliable indicator of the name
    • Although it took Will and Kate three days to decide, punters clearly knew better: George was the favorite throughout the run-up to the big day.

Now from memory Alexandra was wildly tipped (last time) as the 'hot outsider', which was entirely incorrect. So suspect there will be some deviance and false rumours again on the outcome this time. Saying that Alice seems historically steady & short on the odds trackers.

Almost certainly a girl, by odds trending, 'genetic optimisation' or maybe just chance, as this would suit the marketing profile very well also to have one of each.

SJ offers this as a mixed-multiplier and luckily enough has by far the best numerals today at a generous x3.25. Wild e/w card (BP x17) via PPowers is for Alexandra. Due to pop in the next few days.

Hold the horses, Alexandra just cut to x5 via betfred, suspect an order has been placed for 'A' initialled tee-shirts/merchandise and it's a toss up between this and Alice. x5 stands out as slightly unusual in the pattern of things currently. Widely available still at around x17. Only recommended as an add on to existing e/w accumulators.

Note: due to pop out today onwards.
Note: markets void once labour starts.

Interesting turn around for Charlotte moving back up into 2nd Fav (1stFav on some books).
    bet_rb_charlottex5_5.png

Seen it going short across the boards across last 48hrs, picked up at x5.5 via Boyles earlier this morning (market now closed), and on SJ at 5.5 also yesterday. Avail BP x5 via Coral. Worth adding as an e/w selection (as part of an accum) as it may even be used as middle name. Alice still holding interest across the books though.

The chap with the ears officially announced they were hoping for a girl within the last couple of hours, so this could be 'nearly as good as free money' at ROI 150% for a Female market option. Ideally combined with few safe ones e.g. Floyd Mayweather Jr, Southampton (mon) San Antonio Spurs (nba tonight) and just possibly the Washington Capitals etc...

I love the name Alexandra & am going to put a bet on it-only thing putting me off is the fact that baby George had Alexander as his 3rd name. Don't think it will be Alice or Charlotte

Agree Charlotte doesn't sound regal in the slightest, and could likely a false positive, which leaves Alice/Alexandra*.
    * Was a steady frontrunner for version 1 of this event.

Olivia is also shooting up the charts, again unlikely. Victoria(vicky) is fairly popular with the yoof these days, so could be on the cards also.

The gender option was a good 150% ROI, was only ever x1.56 at best price during the last month. And was more or less sealed deal after announcement yesterday morning from Charlie.

Either way won't be waving any flags, just the wallet - if the rest of the weekly/monthly accum's comes in...

Love Olivia, Sophia, Rose, Victoria, Elizabeth. I think Charlotte is quite royal sounding (also is the name of a princess in Monaco). When betting I also put a fiver on Isabella. So a fiver on Alexandra & Isabella.

Bloody hell. Just saw a pic of Kate holding baby. She's wearing a floral dress. Think it's a sign-Florence/Rose etc. God, I'm turning into Kay Burley!!!

Luckily that insurance bet on Charlotte came through and x5.5 was too good to miss especially when everyone across the board was cutting back to around x3.5.

...'Allegedly' the old boy at the castle let it slip to the Gardener, and caused the flurry that 'Lottie' was the name. Anyone with 'lizzy and di' will get their e/w returns.

Next up on the novelty/alternative circus markets is the UK elections, then the Europop competition

Just three names along with that earlier (x1.57) gender option: So mainly Alice (x3.75), little for Alexandra (x17) on the e/w accums and then Charlotte (x5.5) as the wild card insurance single as it was offered by one book at x5.5 when the odds dropped suddenly across the entire board to x3.5 or less. a few hours later it wasn't available near that price and due this along with the proximity to the close to end of event, an insurance option choice driven by market trending only. Still fairly surprised it won tbh...

The normal accums are mid-low e/w four-folds but made out of at least five selections, so one selection falling off is always factored for...
