I didn't receive an email back from them. Not very nice, would have been polite to send one regardless of success or not!

Anyone have their assessment day in the coming week? Not sure what to expect, is it an interview and aptitude or will it be multiple things?

i'm the 22th i think. Anyone have any idea what will be happening on the day and how long we'll be up there for?

    Hey lads and ladies,
    I contacted the email address the notifications were coming from (eircom @ cut-e.com) about location and got the following reply;

    "Dear Mark,

The address is the eircom beside heuston (1 Heuston South Quarter, St Johns Road, Dublin 8)

    Kind Regards,

    Assessment Support Team"

Hope this helps but maybe you'd like to contact them yourselves just to be sure there is no variance in locations?

I can't put links into my message as I am a new user, so for a bit more info or help Google; "eircom assessments" and find the link that mentions "early talent" and "eircom". There are some FAQs about the process there.

Now I just need to figure out what Smart Casual means!!

Does anyone know how many people are left at this stage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,073 ✭✭✭thekopend

Id put aside the most of the day id say as it seems is will be the interview all in the one day aswell. Not sure how many are left but according to the faq's this is the 4th stage out of 5 and the 5th being offer of places!

Just got confirmation email from eircom as to where the assesment is on. Id say all are in the same place in dublin. No details of the day but they are all on the faq page which i presume most people have seen

Then we had group exercises on tasks where teamwork was required but it was also your moment to shine and show them how good you are as an individual but dont take over completely use your initiative

    best piece of advice

the assesment I was in, in 2011, there was a qualified electrician in my group, someone you would think was a dead cert to get in,well up until the group exercise.

Yes he took charge, was confident and got stuff done, but he had it set in his head how to complete the exercise, and took into account very little from everyone else,

I'm more reserved, so I gave my input, tried to influence it being used, but he decided his way was correct,

I felt afterwards I hadn't done enough, or showed a bit more enthusiasm, and thought I wouldn't get through ..

But hey ho, I got a job, he didn't ...

There was also an individual assesment, where you and an assessor had to do a role play type situation... I was a stuttering mess halfway through after letting the nerves get to me, just chill, and don't let it worry you ...

Looking back, it was quite straighforward, and not half as bad as it was made out, but I really wanted the job and there was a lot more buzz about the scheme in 2011(as you can probably see in the older posts) that put a bit more emphasis on doing well..

anyway best of luck everyone who's applied !

to see the spec of the Higher cert you'll do,

    google: fetac 6m2382

(I can't attach links as a new user)

    we did:

    Telecommunications Technology
    Networks Installation and Maintenance
    Electrical Principles
    Customer Service
    Personal and Professional Development
    Broadband Service Skills
    Optic Fibre Installation
    Front Line Technical Support Skills

for our cert, I don't know if they'll do some of the other modules this time round.

Good shout is expensive alright but u made the right call best of luck tomorrow remember they need to see you are capable of working in a team and also on your own initiative and if you have a 1-1 dont lose your cool

I stayed in jurys parnell st for mine it was cheap enough and luas is only down the street and drops you at heuston and its a minutes walk to eircom hsq might be worth a shot if you pass this tomorrow and have to go back again
