That's why there is no eating in my car!

Had a young kid sitting in the front of the car yesterday. He was drinking chocolate milk and he spilled it everywhere, all over himself, the seat, the floor, the gearstick, the handbrake, the radio, heater controls, all the centre console area. Now it's all sticky. Ewwww

Id imagine you have to wet vac or steam clean as if the milk starts to smell not sure if it will small as bad as normal milk I suppose it depends what type it was but if it is like normal milk it will stink the interior out of it as time goes on. Probably the worst thing you can in a car well petrol and diesel are very hard to get out too.

I never was one to implement that really, mainly because most of my friends are asses and would jump in and eat like pigs. Nothing would stop them. But I always keep the cars clean.

It's hard for me to adopt the always clean approach, it's alright for those of ye in urban areas, ye're cars stay clean inside, just dust or gravel or whatever get on ye're shoes. Out in the country car interiors never stay spotless for no length, there's always some sort of dirt that'll get inside with you. It's like a loosing battle.

Id be the same kind of easier said than done. Although at the same time there is certain things that I wouldn't eat in the car and kind of rarely eat in it anyway only if I had a long drive and didn't have time to stop. most of the time all will find is a load of empty bottles of water in the passenger footwell that I'm too lazy to throw out.

I'm just after reading a thread about what colour a blokes new mk7 golf highline should be. Am I the only person here who thinks the new golf is horrible? Especially from the rear!
I used to be a golf fan ( I was too cheap to ever buy one) esp in gti form.
But the new one is manky!

I think the back is the nicest part tbh I like the new rear lights. I ultimately prefer the overall look of the previous mk6 though.

6 didn't look to bad but 7 looks meh. Front looks to wide to me or something.

The Mk5 was the best of the ones lately.
Its supposed to be a normal decent car.

It's like the latest ones are trying to hard or something!

19 degree c, sun and blue sky's in kilkenny what more could you ask for. On days like this the a/c comes in very handy.

    FYP

 Id imagine yb was talking about golfs in general rather than my one or van versions.

But just when you initially get into the car after the sun shinning on it the a/c is good to cool it down then after a few minutes I would normally turn it off and drive with the windows down. But infairness with our climate a/c is far from a necessity I didn't have it in the focus.

    Joking:p

Personally I prefer the mark 7, its a huge improvement over the previous model. Was driving a GTI last week and you'd know the weight saving. Felt more responsive than the power difference would suggest, nice place to be too.

I had it on my Mirage Asti Mivec and nearly poisoned myself one day when I decided to turn it on. I'd say the last place the air conditioning was serviced was Japan.

My Astras a/c use to smell abit weird. When they are left for a long time without use bacteria and mould can build up causing a bad smell when you do turn it on you can get bottles of stuff that you leave in the car and let it run through the system to clean it up but I don't know how good or bad they are.

Had to use a bottle of it for the Mondeo last week. Mammy Hackett was driving it and the rubber mat kinda lifted up and she never noticed, pressed down on the clutch and the clutch got stuck in it for a few seconds. Burned the sh*t out of it and the smell lingered for a while. Got a bottle of that stuff and the smell was gone out of the car in no time - smelled like a brand new car in the showroom :p

Like anyone I have a list of things I insist on when buying a car. A/C is one.

The second is fog lights. :o

Agreed...but I thought we were not allowed talk about fog lights on this forum.

How times have changed, I think now that cars are coming with DRL the use of the aforementioned has declined to almost non existent levels.

You can talk all you like about them. You just can't talk about when they should / shouldn't be used. ;)

At least I can drive mine everyday of the week and not just the days the car feels like working :D only joking :p

Actually have it a year this week it was a quick year tbh it quickly approaching the longest I've ever kept a car had the focus 13 months Id love a mk6 but they are still soooo expensive its realistically going to be next summer by the time I can get one I'm happy enough to keep my mk5 anyway.

    Said no one ever!

Honestly, I don't mean to sound rude but go out and try something else. If you don't like it fair enough but to me owning a Mk5 golf and lusting after a Mk6 is sole destroying...

I once got a newer generation car and it was my first and second car. A 5th gen civic and then a 6th gen. Now I go for what ever is the best value/cheapest.
