People who self- diagnose food intolerances or cut out an entire food group for no proper medical reason, e.g. not eating any carbs/gluten/dairy.

People who automatically make snide remarks to me because of my job (I'm a teacher). I'm not saying my profession is without fault, but if I'm in a pub or out for dinner, I don't want to talk about strikes and how you had a $hitty maths teacher 10 years ago and so all teachers are $hitty by default.

Actually to be fair, those things aren't inexplicable. They're just assholes.

Sure haven't you those months and months and months and months of holidays to be relaxing in the pub at the taxpayers expense? :)

People who demand explanations from you, based on their poor understanding of what you work at.

I didn't buy a bottom-end cheapest option available MBP, but each to their own.
The physical structure is about as important as the colour of the shoes of the man who sold it to me. That being said, it does overheat like crazy and replacement parts are ridiculously expensive
People who like to listen to music use FLAC, people who just want to listen to Hozier on the train home use Spotify
Pirating a program doesn't change the fact that Apple will try to charge you for it, and Windows laptops can do the same thing without having to download a new program

    Hi Captain,

I'm sorry your Mac overheated... it's not typical but you do have your warranty and even outside that period you can make a claim under Consumer Law.

I was surprised to hear what you said about FLAC as there are programs like Fluke which will play media encoded in that format... admittedly iTunes doesn't support this format natively but you can always convert the files if you want to play them in that particular app.

Both are free apps - no piracy required!

I think some people look at the App Store or the iTunes Store and think that it's unfair because some apps/films are paid. Pretty much every piece of freeware I can think of has a Mac version - you just need to google it! :)

A loud annoying laugh pisses me off like nothing else.
There are a few in my office that you can hear laughing their heads off down the phone from the other side of the building.

The MB still works, I just mean it gets very hot.

Most free converters I've found either lose quality, don't convert the entire song/album or only have a certain number of free conversions before you have to buy the purchased version. I want the stuff converted to get it on my iPod.

It's an annoyance to be fair, rather than a dealbreaker, but it's an annoyance I didn't expect to have to deal with.

In it's defence, I will say the trackpad is about a thousand times better than any other laptop I've used

It turns me against a lot of you that most of these gripes are not inexplicable and are, in fact, common enough reasons for turning against someone.

People who can't admit their wrong or at least try to change the original point of an argument or debate in order to validate their wrong answer.

People who are too work orientated or hold stupid views on what jobs are for "wasters" just because they're in a "solid" job like accountancy. Get over yourself. If someone wants to be a struggling artist or work in a spar that's fine. Doesn't mean they're any less able for your job they're just happy where they are.

Anyone who moans about a situation which they can solve or have gotten themselves into. Playing the victim. The inability to say "it's my fault". That's a big one for me.

People who drive anti-clockwise through filling stations. And I don't even drive.

People who leave the plastic ring on a 2 litre of milk when they open it at first & then put the top back on over the ring

When I go to add milk to my tae, the fúcking ring falls into it

When people talk about their love of craft beers. And Will Ferrell. And this new artisan cheese they discovered.

People who chuckle and sneer about being "let off because I was a minor" etc and shown leniency/given reduction in punishment for some sh¡t they told you carried out.

True Chris, I feel for you when you talk about accountancy jobs, remember what Jim Carrey had to say on the matter?
"“My father could have been a great comedian but he didn’t believe that that was possible for him, and so he made a conservative choice. Instead, he got a safe job as an accountant.

When I was 12 years old, he was let go from that safe job, and our family had to do whatever we could to survive. I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which was that you can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.”

That said I also get upset when people say I need to "take responsibility" for my actions... No, you need to take responsibility that you're too ****in' stupid to see the truth...

    :-D

A white person who has dreadlocks or who wears those baggy ethnic trousers like these.

I can't help but fear they are a hard left activist who will go postal on me for daring to not share their worldview and opinions.

People that continuously talk bad behind other peoples backs. I always steer well clear of people like that. They're usually hugely insecure and not to be trusted in the slightest.

I'm always weary of people that are too sweet, people that love being in positions of authority and people that are arrogant.

That reminds me - someone (again, a non-Arabic individual and usually a right-on, bleeding heart) wearing one of those huge wraparound Palestinian scarves.

You're right grundie... I'm a lefty but don't wear these for fear of being accused of being a latté liberal... and just think of the possibilities, no fear of Betty Swollocks! :-D

I saw that once in court (used to go there when at Uni as it's cheaper than cinema and often free drinks)... some smug little toerag had actually committed a crime the day of his 18th birthday but thought he would still be tried as a minor... You should have seen his face when the case was referred...! :-D

The way someone behaves in an unpleasant environment. e.g. When school pupils cannot go outside at lunch because the weather is bad.
When someone is in a long queue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,996 ✭✭✭_Whimsical_

People who make you feel like an eijet for being nice to them.
Like when you lend something to someone, instead of saying thanks they will say "here's that back,I never bothered using it". Or the people who'll say "haha God it was only a cold!" if you say "good to see u back" or whatever after they've been sick.
    Hate those people!

In Third Level, final year students still behaving like 'freshers'. This is the type of student statistically likely to be repeating a year.

I don’t’ mind people who believe in religion but I dislike people who push their beliefs onto other people. I’m sorry to generalize but there are a good few Christians and Muslims that do this. Atheists also fall into this category, it’s fine if you don’t believe in anything but why push it onto others with that "you must be an idiot" smirk. Can’t these people just be content.

'Inexplicably' in the thread title is the word you're looking for.
