GGG is a machine. No wonder nobody wants to fight him.

He has had 3. You mean he deserves a soft shot at a belt

I've respected Martin Murray for a long time, but he has gone up in my estimation tonight. Tremendous chin and heart.

The fact that Golovkin was able to so easily dominate such an all-round tough guy like Murray speaks volumes for his ability.

Oh agreed, he's had three now and arguably won two of them so no issues with him going again post this loss.

I think this beating may knock him back significantly though. If not physically then mentally. He could look himself in the mirror post the Strum and Martinez fights and say I'm the better man, I got cheated, cant do that this time. The knowledge that he's second best may reduce him a lot.

The more i watch GGG, the more confident i am of Ward beating him. He's the only one including the super middleweights that would be favourite against GGG. He's hittable and i dont think his workrate is consistent. Of course im talking about the Ward of two years ago.

Ah his workrate is impressive in fairness. I just think Ward would tie him up at key times, and use his additional size and counter punching to force him onto the back foot.

I want to see how GGG works off the back foot. He is very easy to hit when coming forward the bigger guys would test his chin obviously

GGG v Froch is a fight for the fans

Ward is at super-middleweight. Hopefully those two will fight each other in the next year or two. Great fight we have there.

Id agree ward of 2 years ago beats him. But to me after 2-3 rounds ggg knew murray could not hurt him. And he walked through him. He seems to choose to take shots because he knows he can take them if that makes sense

Does Ward have the power to deter him though?

Froch would end up on his bum. The near 12 month lay off wont do him any good. I could picture ggg nailing him at will.

I Politely disagree. I think GGG would be bigger and stronger and hit harder, and he had a super chin

I don't think Frotch is in the same league tbf, end up like Murray

But GGG would be stronger at SM

He threw over 800 punches & I think a part of him gettiing hit was that Murray has no power.

Not a huge Froch fan but he has beaten all comers at his weight with the exception of Ward.

Its a test for GGG fighting a top calibre SMW

possibly but we don't know for sure. Golovkin isn't a big middleweight (he could still make 154lbs handy enough) and Ward is a natural light heavy campaigning at SMW

Murray threw one of two that works rock most fighters

Thats true. But ggg can take a better punch than andy lee. Murray had no power to bother ggg and he knew that pretty early.

I'm not convinced Golovkin would really take it to the top SMWs.

His chin is top notch and none of the current batch of middleweights can get his respect. But against someone like Froch it could be very different.

Golovkin's a good boxer with creative offence, but his primary advantages are his chin and his power. For fighters like him moving up in weight is always a bigger risk.

I dont like when one of your attributes are that you can take a punch. Surely, it would be more important not to get hit.

You don't want to be a punch bag, but equally you are likely to get caught at some point, you need to be able to deal with it

How many fighters would love to have a good chin, amir Khan would be unbeatable, as far as I see ggg is ruthless when he knows he can't be hurt, I'd imagine if he had to be more elusive he could be, or take less risks against a bigger hitter,

Well his amateur pedigree would suggest that he can be, but I think he might struggle to fight that way again after steamrolling opponents for the last 10 years.

Murray impressed me last night. Did a lot right, but just didn't have the tools to get the job done. Golovkin-Ward is a fascinating fight. I think Ward has the right style to beat him, but Golovkin would take him places he hasn't yet been.
