How was people's season so far,
On the midland lakes and the shannon,,
Divers seem very scarce, even at this stage in the season,,
Also can you shoot ducks on lough iron,
I know it is a favoured roosting place of the midland whitefront geese,,and under no circumstances can they be shot, but can u shoot ducks they're or on the inny leading into it??

There's definitely a Wildfowl Sanctuary on Lough Iron - I presume it covers the whole lake.

Divers; i.e. Pochard and Tufted Duck, have been in steady decline for few some years. I've been up and down Lough Ree three times since beginning December and saw very few flocks (in fact none the last time which was a week ago), I bagged 5 Teal and 1 Widgeon for all three trips, I honestly say my smallest bag ever. Boat up now until the fishing starts.. and yes Lough Iron is a sanctuary, I personally would be weary of shooting anywhere near it.
