    All looks good on paper!

Regarding the use of community responder schemes: are these fully utilised at the minute? Does control use all available resources (community responders/vols/privates/fire service that make themselves available) for delta/echo calls or would it be all HSE resources only?

Wi regard to the fire service, no. It costs to send out the fire service...

Some community responders depending where in Ireland. No Vols. No privates. No Fire Service Appliances unless rtc, fire etc!
All HSE resources only.... Rrv's, Officers, Doctors, ICV's.

Contrary to the last two posts, there are a number of counties where fire service are responding to cardiac arrest calls in a first responder role. There have been a fair number of saves too.

The HSE will accept any responder group that signs up to the CFR policy. Once signed up, then the scheme contact phone number is incorporated into the CAD system, which will automatically send a dispatch text if an echo call is generated within the scheme geoboundry area.

Order of Malta in Wexford are set up as responders to Echo calls I believe.

Heard of the civil defence in Galway responding to calls twice this year while on duties. They had a full crew of paramedics/AP's though so that was probably the reason.

IMO - if a vol/private are in the area they should definitely be tasked simultaneously with a HSE resource if it is a delta/echo call and they can get there first. It probably gets messy if they start transporting patients from 999 calls though

Makes sense if you stand back and think of how many volunteers are out at weekends and and their geographical spread, including many rural locations,
