Hi,

Anyone recommend a nice hotel around the Monaghan/Omagh area. Will be staying there for a night ahead of a trip from Dublin to Derry. So preferably not far off the main road.

Had a look online and saw the Westerna, whats the verdict on that?

We stayed at the Hillgrove in Monaghan in March. Thought it was lovely

Both hotels are excellent, but the Hillgrove is usually cheaper as it's a bit out of the town (and hence quieter). There are a few B&B's around too. http://www.tripadvisor.ie/Hotels-g186630-Monaghan_County_Monaghan-Hotels.html

Just on this, had another look and Monaghan town might be a bit far for Derry. Does anyone know any nice hotels/B&Bs near Omagh/Strabane.

Castle Leslie has a good hotel I think, but second to that I would recommend Westendra as its very central and has a good bar and restaurant. Enjoy!
