Currently saving for a new car and I'm looking for something no higher than 1.6 petrol or 1.9 diesel, I would do on average 15,000km a year.

Want something that with good mpg ,well made and somewhat stylish.

From my limited research so far I have come across the following

    Kia ceed 1.4
    Opel astra 1.4
    Renault Clio 16v 1.2
    Opel corsa 1.2
    Seat Leon 1.4

    All in 2008

    Any opinions would be great

    Octavia?
    Golf?

You might have to drop back a couple of years to get a diesel golf though

The 1.4 Ceed will probably be the most powerful of that bunch. The Clio and Corsa are smaller cars from the class below the others so are not directly comparable. What sort of driving will you be doing? If it is mostly town driving then maybe something Clio size will fit the job but if you are doing motorway driving then something from the Ceed class will be a lot more comfortable and suited to motorway driving.

the cars you mention all have cheap tax on CC anyway, they might not be any cheaper on emissions and the 2007 could well be a good bit cheaper. I would take a good look at prices... Some cars are actually more expensive on emissions than they were on cc...
