McCarthy not the answer, plus we would be overpaying since Martinez likes him and he just signed a new contract.

Once sec we're talkin about Di Maria and seeing how he would adjust into the squad and now there are people settling for just McCarthy

Yep, I would rather we went after the player positions we need. I would love to get Di Maria, but only if we got a Central Midfielder (i.e. Schneiderlin, Khedira, Bender, McCarthy :O), spending money hasn't exactly worked out for so far. A proper central defender would be nice too. I know, stuff of dreams for the biggest club in the world.

I would rather a McCarthy than there's a no value in the market, there's no players available, you all only want big signings, Fletcher, Fellaini, Cleverley.

At this stage Utd need players who can come in and add class, making a difference from day one and become a fixture in the team.
    McCarthy isn't that player.

There have been enough players like him bought for their "potential" over the last few years ,Utd need at least one quality midfielder ,they have enough average players like Mc Carthy .
How many times did Fergie buy "potential" central midfielders ,most of whom were underwhelming signings.

If Khedira is available for reasonable money then he must be signed ,he is exactly what the team craves.

I think the problem we have had for quite a while is that they're not good enough for us, I'm not saying go on and buy ****, but don't dismiss everyone who isn't £XXm. We have ignored problems on our team due to there not being the players available, which I think is pure ****e, the players are there, you're just not looking for the right ones.

Honestly, for all people want to make out we have a bunch of Sunday leaguers in our midfield, I would think we have plenty down on that level. What we need is significant improvement, not another settle job.

The likes of Darren Fletcher and Tom Cleverley would badly struggle to make almost all Premier League teams apart from promoted teams. Michael Carrinck is 33 and in decline too. Herrera looked a tidy player in the Swansea game but to my eyes a good bit short of world class. Fellaini is useful but is out of favour and obviously struggling to fit in.

Most midtable premier league teams have midfields capable of matching or beating United's. Solid inexpensive signings would be more useful than no world class signings. Villa for instance signed Colombian linchpin Carlos Sanchez for €4.5m albeit from a small club like Elche. If he was to replicate his world cup form in the premier league it could be an absolute bargain.

Exactly, you only have to look at our most recent signing, I have to admit, I'm now looking forward to seeing him turn in to a legend cos he's a red, but no one knows much about him, yet we've paid £16m for him, given Nani away (No problem as such, his best days are behind him, probably!) but we're paying his wages. It's around £20.5m and Swansea have bought his international team mate for around £8m. Our scouting system isn't working, our preparation for each season isn't working. Woodward's not working. We have the money, we know the kind of players we need, what's the answer?

Do ye think that this would work?

No because all the players are facing the wrong way. :pac:

You're looking at it the wrong way. De Gea is the lone striker. No one would expect it. It's foolproof if you can convince the ref to let you play with two goalkeepers.

    "edging closer to signing".

He's either signed or he hasn't. He either intends to or he doesn't. Edging closer.......pff....and I'm edging closer to Scarlett Johansson

She's edging closer to a restraining order....

If you guys had a choice which would you pick

    1. United to sign Vidal , di Maria and benaita

    2. A threesome with Scarlett johansson and Kate upton

Let me put it in terms you'll best understand.

    Johansson ---- Sacramento ---- Upton

I like to play as the link up man as long as those playing with me don't mind a big tackle.

Is it wrong that I'd genuinely rather United sign the three lads? :pac::pac::pac:

SSN reporting that LVG allegedly does not want DiMaria as he feels signing him would stunt Adnan's development.

Interestingly, beIN would be very close to PSG - to the point where I would see them as a PSG mouthpiece, would be interested to see what mention PSG gets in that article.

I personally reckon PSG will get Lavezzi or Cavani off the books in the next few days, freeing up the FFP space for Di Maria - and that Di Maria will wait for this to happen.

I do think United have genuine interest in him, but I also think they are just being used as a stalking horse by Di Maria's entourage to spark PSG into action.

Have to admit I'm getting more frustrated by the day with this transfer window. Lets look at who we'd like to sign:
    1. Vidal - more or less everyone agrees he'd be a huge signing, but there are concerns apparently from Van Gall about his knee. Everyone sick of it at this stage.
    2. Strootman - ruled out for another few months and no guarantee he'll come in January - a move next summer would make more sense for the player himself.
    3. Hummells - made captain of Dortmund and we cant offer him CL football plus Dortmund don't want to sell.
    4. Reus - cant offer him CL football and he will have offers from the likes of Barca, Real Madrid and Bayern which are on a higher plane to us right now.
    5. Di Maria - cant offer him CL football, but he seems determined to leave Real. Huge transfer fees mentioned and now LVG says he's afraid his arrival would curtail Januzaj's progress.
    6. Ferdy Gaurin - being eyed up as a potential purchase instead of Vidal. Fee and wages probably wont be an issue, but is he good enough?
    7. Benatia - no CL football to offer him, Bayern are in the hunt and he'd be a fool t go anywhere else if that's the case.
    8. William Carvalho - interest from other clubs and it appears United put off by fee along with the fact we cant offer CL football.
    9. Sami Khedeira - seems there may be something in place for him to join Arsenal - but the old chestnut of no CL football on offer could scupper any chance we had with the player.

That leaves a few players currently in Russia and Ukraine (e.g. Douglas Costa) and the likes of utter **** like Alex Song.

But to be honest, the seeds for what is happening now were sown the day Ferguson told the board he was stepping down and that David Moyes was taking over. Scholes is right to feel scared of where the club will end up. We badly need top rate players, but that's hard without the caveat of CL football and there might be no quick fix here.

It was on the morning paper talk section coming from a report from the express.. Most other papers are saying that Di Maria is LVG's top target.

Also it was Bein Arabia that reported the edging closer report not BeIn France.. BeIn Arabia are known bullshìtters. They reported that Vidal had signed for us in July and I'm sure they have said that Barca had signed a few players that they didn't too. Reporting them as done deals

    Ballotelli.....

Jesus I'd love a late bid at him

Can you imagine the trolling that'd do to the YNWA brigade???

    Classic

And if Milan are looking for Chico too, swap deal and cash.....

Put Miranda Kerr in there instead of SJ and its the threesome all day. Perhaps a better chance of that happening too.

This would only amuse me if he was to be signed, immediately loaned out for the year and then sold next summer. :pac:
