I think your a little harsh on fury, let's remember that he wasted almost a year waiting for the biggest dodge of them all Haye. He's only 25 and he's had his fair share of tough fights.
Wilder is full of ****e imo and some of his opponents have been absolute joke shops. As for price I don't think he'd last 5 rounds in the ring with Fury!

Fury's opponents haven't been great either.

Better than Wilder's by a good bit though.

Re: Fury being Irish-the Brits can have him...and his annoying little cousin.

I think Chisora has improved since their last bout. Chisora could steal it with a big right over the top that he tried to nail Vitali with all night. I don't think Fury has the chin for it.

Would like to see Fury v Thompson (or even v Shannon Briggs if he is on the comeback) if he overcomes Chisora.

You won't be saying that when he's ruling the heavyweight division with an iron fist.

I bet I will! Although more accurately, I would! as neither will ever rule the HW division.

    Is he legitimately Irish?

He's definitely ducked Price, was offered the fight at least twice befor Price met Thompson. He has also been offered Wilder a number of times apparently. As far as I know he was offered either Pulev or Adamek too. Keeps ****ting on about chasing the Wlad fight and getting nowhere. IDIOT!

Born in England and raised there. Don't think he has ever even lived in Ireland.

His dad is from county Galway though, and one of his grandparents comes from Tipperary. Think his mother and other grandparents are British but am open to correction on that.

National identity isn't limited to where you're born. He's an Irish Traveller. They aren't considered British over here at all and certainly don't consider themselves to be English in any way or form. Most of them over here still have Irish accents even.

Never said it was. Would regard him as being like myself in that he can lay claim to a number of nationalities.

My birth cert says I am Irish born, but my accent says scouse, my passport says I am British, but I also have German citizenship. Hell if you want to then bring grandparents into it I can add Danish to the list. :p

Am not trying to knock Fury at all in terms of nationality though, and am sorry if it came across as such.

Not long to go now lads, what's the general consensus on this fight?

Crucial fight for both fighters. I just don't see any way that tyson fury loses this fight. He might even get a ko in the latter rounds.

Really? He was put down hard by Cunningham recently and forearmed him pretty much to the stoppage. To give Chisora his dues, he's come up trumps since he stopped acting like a dick and started getting in shape.

I might be wrong but I think his mother is of Romany descent.

have fury or chisora ever fought any of the top rated american heavies yet,I think a fit and focused Mike Perez would wipe the floor with the both of them

I think Fury might fold under pressure from Chisora....if Chisora connects with one of those wild overhand rights I see Fury hitting the deck...

Are these guys really the best HW's the Brits have? Would love to see Shannon "The Canon" Briggs in with one of these.

His maternal grandmother is meant to be from Tipperary. It's his maternal grandfather that's a Burton, and they're Romany gypsies I think. If he's three quarters Irish by blood that's more than good enough for me.

    So what you're saying is that he's a bit of a mongrel.:D

Lads, he's as Irish as Tea and Crumpets with the queen, would ye come off it with oh his grandmothers gardener was Irish and apparently his parents are Irish bla bla bla. Bernard Dunne is Irish, Barry Mc Guigan is Irish, Wayne Mc Cullough is Irish, Steve Collins is Irish......see the trend here???

The chap is English, who cares?

He's pretty good, so I'm all for claiming him! He's looked very vulnerable at times with his defence, but there's no heavyweight his age or close to it around right now that's achieved what he's achieved so far. Also if his career keeps going good and he decides to take some of his fights to Ireland, that's good for Irish boxing!

Yes but i believe she had a pint of guinness one night AND a bag of tayto.

Fury is English. He has never lived in Ireland so how could he be Irish?

If I have a grandmother from Turkey does that make me Turkish if I'm born and raised in Ireland all my life?
    The answer is no.

If myself and my old doll have a child in China will that child be totally and unequivocally Chinese with no Irish identity? No, of course it wouldn't. Your definition of identity and nationality is narrow minded and insulting.

Not that simple. Two examples from my own extended family. On my side I've a first cousin who lives in the states and couldnt care less about Waterford. If asked his kids are American. My wife has cousins in Philly and NJ who are second or third generation yet travel to Mayo whenever possible, follow GAA and if asked are Irish. Its a personal choice in some regards allbeit legalities do impact.

Comparing China and Ireland to an England-Ireland scenario is off the mark. Physical likeness is also something to consider, and from my viewpoint we look nothing like oriental people. I'm assuming you and your doll are white Irish?

Fury is English. He may have some traces or connections to Ireland, but who doesn't?:)

Nationality isn't determined by race alone Walsh. If the argument stands true in China then it stands true in English, the level of cross-assimilation may be different but the basic premise is the same.

By your logic Andy Lee is English but yet you've no bother claiming him as Irish. You can be part of the Irish nation without living in Ireland itself, a nation is about people and not residence on a given territory.

You can go back and forward on this all day. Fury is English. Lee has more ties and claims to Ireland I would think. The lad boxed for us in Athens. He boxed in many senior championships. We can get caught up in individual cases till the cows come home.
