It seems the club know what Guardiola is up to (again).

I stand by my point that the only thing now is if Barca or Madrid come in @ €80million.

But - SHOULD it be secret? How could it possibly be? The whole point of the clause is so that Suarez (and his agent) know the club won't stand in his way if a sufficiently large offer is made.

So what would the point of that be, if it was impossible for the amount of the clause to be disclosed? Just wait for them to bid and get into a game of "Warm, Warmer..." ??

80 million euro? 65 million Sterling, far too cheap unless Sanchez is thrown in.

The ongoing rumour seems to be £56 + Sanchez

Kike Marin is one of the better Barca/Spanish based journos.

    seems I was right.

Guardiola has no tact what so ever, and I was amazed he wasn't sacked after the Arsenal debacle.

also interesting point I read was the inclusion of the word 'confidential' by James Pearce in the Echo article when talking about ther release clause.

It seems the club know what Guardiola is up to (again).

Fair play on the dedication to the Suarez saga. Couldn't do it myself.

The vast majority on twitter haven't a notion what's going on. They have to generate clicks somehow I suppose.

But if that's the clause, then that's the clause. Luis and his agent would have wanted a clause that was realistic, otherwise it defeats the purpose.
It's not a one way discussion, so we can't just make up a £250M clause and tell him to suck it up...

That would be a very good deal. Sanchez must be a c. £20M player, and that leaves enough money for Hummels, Witzel and Kroos!

Look I know the truth lies somewhere in the middle, and the trick to Twitter is who you follow.
but the same people that dismissed the news being leaked last season about the Arsenal interest etc are doing the same again.

I dont buy into either side tbh but those that dismiss outright are as bad as those that swallow it up, as far as I am concerned.

I can't deal with another Suarez saga right now, the world cup is on FFS, let me have a few weeks of peace..... :-(

    exactly.

and a couple of days ago some people couldn't get their head around such a clause which I found bizarre.

Is it an ongoing rumour, or is it a slightly tweaked version of a story that was published in the Mundo Deportive article only a couple of days ago?

    Its all pointless conjecture, anyway.

Enjoy the World Cup. Its an absolute cracker and one I personally feel privileged to be watching.

If Suarez goes, he goes. If he doesn't, best bit of business.. brilliant.

No point speculating over it on the hearsay of a few peeps on the Twitter machine, not when there's so much football on at the moment, that's for sure.

    Hmm...

I would rather him go to Barca than go to Madrid personally....

Still a chance he may not though....

These are based the story that was in The Times the other day. The one by Duncan Castles, erstwhile of Sulia, that was predicated on Suarez being unhappy with Rodgers for saying that he wasn't missed when he was suspended.

This stuff sells newspapers, especially when he practically knocked out England on Thursday. If he goes, and he well might, IMO it won't be because of anything in that Castles story, or with him valued at £56m in some kind of player swap.

Theres a long Summer ahead. Enjoy the world cup and don't be worrying about whats rumored here and whats rumored there!

Plenty of time for that in July and August imo.

Bloody hell, in some ways I'd want Suarez to leave just to stop the endless speculation here.

Everytime I see you post in this thread I'm reminded of that Harry Enfield character with the small man syndrome, constantly looking for a beef.

Do you remember this real version video from a couple of years ago..:pac:

    Stupid ways?

I'd put up wit endless speculation throughout the year if the result was him being here the following season.

Of course I don't want him to leave, he's fantastic, but the thread is dominated by news of him leaving for months, even after signing a new contract.

    It's just never ending.

When Gerrard looked like leaving in 2005/06 I imagine it took up about 1 page.

If he is to go and there is this a release clause and it is matched by more than one team then I really hope the board don't do anything till he puts in a transfer request and has to give up loyalty bonuses.

either way I'm guessing a transfer request will be involved.

Henry/Warner has proved themselves to be one tough cookie when it comes to negotiations.
I cant see that changing any time soon.

I think another possible outcome could be a deal for Sanchez and a pre-contract for Suarez in the '15/'16 season.

Read all about it .......read all about it........

    Suarez in transfer speculation shocker.

One of worlds best players lights up the world cup and wins match against England. Subsequent massive transfer speculation has ensued. Football world is in shock as no one could have expected this level of bullsh*t from everywhere. Read all about it everywhere until the end of summer but exclusive facts will be on twitter.

Barca were supposedly very close to signing the likes of Marquinhos, Reus (lols) Laporte, Mathieu and Koke according to the usual numpty press in Barcelona, and yet weeks later.. nothing. Relax the cacks I tells ya.

Unless Barca offer Sanchez (if he is willing to join) they have no chance of signing Suarez imo. Real might hopefully go for Falcao with Mendes bein influential at Real.

No it's not because most of it is groundless Twitter nonsense that too many people on here believe.

Yeah but Barca/Real don't have to listen to this kind of crap about Messi/Ronaldo :(
