And Mertens went so bloody cheap.

When I found out that, it felt like Arda Turan all over again

Still disappointed over a year later that we never made a move for Mertens.

Also, I'm going to be sad when another club signs Witsel.

Only cost a couple of million more than Alberto. Madness!!!

If he does **** it, 80 million pounds is the price.

Yep whatever the price, I think he will go. I am not convinced he likes playing in England. He stood by Liverpool when they stood by him on the biting ban but another good game for Uruguay and I reckon one of the big clubs will make an offer. I think he knows that he had his chance of a PL last season but they blew it. And he will know after the last day that he is not going to win a CL with Henderson, Gerrard, Sturridge, Sterling, Johnson etc.

Dudek, traore and smicer say hello!

I have often thought that it is dangerous to buy players after a world cup. They shine for 4/5 matches and get a huge price tag and then turn out to be average enough players. Phil Babb an obvious example.

    Diouf :(
Tho technically we signed him just before the World Cup instead of permanently signing Anelka

Smicer was miles ahead of those two... And I don't think we'd have won the final without Dudek :P

It is coming. I'd say he just wants to get home and have a chat with his misses and Brendan Rodgers etc.

I'd say he made the decission before the WC started and hoped England had a reasonable run of results so he could quit on a bit of a high.

I'd now imagine he's just waiting for the right time to announce it.

Suarez is a perfect example of this.

Thought he looked good in the match. Didn't realise he was a target.

I think Ki would be a very good signing for CM. Would be cheap & excellent in possession.

Maybe he's not a target now, I'm not sure. We've definitely had scouts out to watch him for Belgium before the World Cup began and a couple of times for Lille too over the last 2-3 months.

I was in the pub today, watching the Galway and Kilkenny match and in walks a load of American tourists. They sat down at a table and were watching the match while waiting to be served. They didn't know what was going on at all but they obviously were loving the violence and skill involved. One of the men came up to the bar to order drinks. He turns to me and says, "Jesus, I wouldn't like to be in their with a hurley". I looks at him and goes, "I fcuking wouldn't like to be in their without one"!

    Ha.
