Just wondering if anyone knows of any reputable distance learning higher diplomas in Psychology in either the UK or Ireland?

A lot of universities do distance or e-learning courses.

University of Derby does a post grad dip in psychology, it is a conversion course, which is accepted for BPS accreditation. It is also delivered through online learning.

Well, for a start there's a huge difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist.
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who has specialised in the treatment of mental disorders, and tends to take a biomedical view.

As for the difference in job opportunities, I don't know. The UK is a much bigger country, a much richer country, and has a much bigger population, so there will be specialities there that don't exist here.

Hi Everyone,

Im a mature student(25) looking to do a part time counseling or psychology degree.

I have been looking at the PCI college for their degree/lev 8 courses in the area.

Im a little nervous as a want to make sure im doing a course that i will have a recognized qualification at the end after making the payments since its a part time and you apply directly.

It does advise one course is accredited by Middlesex University which is great. But can any one here reassure me o know any courses in Dublin in the counseling/psychology area.

Id be so great full to here back if any one wants to pm, regarding this feel free

I'm currently doing the BSc Psychology through OU, which is distance learning and fully accredited. It's hard work but I'd recommend it, if you're interesting in distance learning over evening classes.

Hi all, I'm thinking of applying for part time psychology course in dbs. As I don't want to rush into it, could you maybe tell me why you wanted to study psychology in the first place? I know I can't go into this willy nilly, I have to think properly about it. What would you say would be things to consider?

I've a young child and im a single mother, would it be tpo much to take on? Would you recommend waiting til she's older? Thanks in advance!
