    Lambert is an excellent signing.

    An astute piece of business.

And I can see him and Borini being quite an effective pairing up front, as an alternative attack, both hard working and do the job given to them...

He came on after 15 mins when Montolivo got injured, then walked off injured after about 10 mins on the pitch. He'd touched the ball about 3 times. Complete sicknote.
Aquilani has a genetic condition that causes his ankle to become inflamed on a regular basis - there's no treatment apart from rest.

Lambert may also improve under Rodgers like a lot of players already have

SSN running the story that big Sammy is in for the Brighton job. Would be great to see him back in the UK.

Moneyball or no Moneyball Lambert makes more sense than splashing 8m or so on Aspas.

A very solid 3rd striker who is happy to sign knowing his chances could be limited enough.

    Suarez
    Sturridge
    Lambert
    Borini
    Sterling
    Coutinho

Nice collection of attackers at the club

The nice thing about all those attackers is the fact LFC actually have decent options up front for the first time in a number of years .

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/9336249/transfer-news-sevilla-confirm-liverpool-interest-in-alberto-moreno

And Castro has now admitted that Liverpool are indeed interested in taking Moreno.

"It's true that there's interest from Liverpool and we're waiting to see if that turns into a reality, which right now, it isn't," Castro told the club's television channel.

Castro insists that the club will not be forced to sell Moreno or Rakitic cheaply, and has denied ongoing reports that the club need to sell in order to bolster their finances.

He said: "What I'm clear about is that we'll not force anyone to stay at Sevilla.

"Whoever wants to leave can do so, but we'll be the ones setting the prices.

"This club is experiencing a time of economic stability and we don't need to sell.

"We're going to be firm about this and we'll only consider selling outside the market, which gives us the opportunity to make our team competitive."

On Rakitic, he confirmed talks were ongoing over a new deal - despite the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and champions Atletico Madrid all reportedly readying offers for the Croatian.

But Castro did admit to being 'frustrated' with Rakitic over the fact he is yet to sign his deal.

"The contract renewal offer to Rakitic is really important to us, as a part of our budget for the next season. We want Rakitic to stay so that the team remains powerful, we really want him to stay," he continued.

"Rakitic still has a year left on his contract and we'll have to analyse what comes. The truth of the matter is that many months have gone by, since we reached an agreement with him and he's still not signed. We're frustrated about that and I am particularly."

Wages is the big one apparently, and Arsenal have first refusal too.

This guy and here's a bit of his track record.
    Really great source tbh..

    10th May
PeterPhillips_: £16M Bid for Lallana went in two days ago , Bid for Spanish Left back Moreno also been put in ( no details on price for him) #LFC”

used to always have team news well in advance and not a serial tweeter.

For all we know, someone from Liverpool has been on to Fabregas's agent and the agent has said he's not interested in coming. Or, the Chelsea deal may be all but completed and we've been informed we'd be wasting our time.

You'll drive yourself mad trying to work out the mysteries of the transfer window

You're talking double that at a minimum.

Lambert, Lallana, Moreno. they would all be super.

Lovren in would be the signing of the summer so far, and comfortably - an answer to our biggest need.

Peter Philips probably the best source on twitter for lfc news before the Journos break it. As you say he rarely tweets, & when he does its no nonsense. If he doesnt know he doesnt comment.

So Rakitic could also be available? If he doesn't sign a new deal, they will HAVE to sell.

If we get 3 from Southampton and 2 from Sevilla, we will become Livillaton? Southvillpool? Severpoolton?

@PeterPhillips_ tweets over the last few transfer windows:

Like I said in Dec 13 Salah should be completed in Jan 14 and looks like the name I didn`t have was Tello..great signing if it happends #LFC

Monopoly banker ( konoplyanka ) will be confirmed once medical is done , terms agreed on a 5 an a half year deal

Siqueira is very close to completion

LFC had a bid for Soldado rejected yesterday , we will go in with a bigger bid ......more to follow when I get it. Cheers

I expect Ince to sign and another 1 which most probably be a 6 month loan deal #LFC

The google widget that comes up when you search for a player says €6M a year, that's 100k a week. I would be surprised if he was on more than Iniesta, Masc, Pique, Xavi...

Man U's tried to get Cesc before.

Aside from the Transfer Fee that can go upto 35M in Bonuses, they were also willing to Double his Barca Salary to 200K. But he still Snubbed them.

Now, knowing all that, can you ever see Liverpool topping Man U's Offer for Fabregas? I really don't.

    Caulker now linked with Southampton.

    get in there.

Lovren potential signing excites me more than Lallana tbh

Jeremy Menez is out of contract - could be a cheaper alternative to beef up our attack?

I thought they weren't doing any more deals until the manager was in place?

Whatever about the other ones. The club expected Salah & Kono to be completed around the time of those tweets. Not sure how you could hold those against him or anyone?

I don't hold it against him,

But he's clearly not someone whose insider knowledge can be banked on.

I don't doubt the veracity of your comment however I work in this area and I'm not aware of such a condition. Would you have a link to where you saw this as I'm curious to know more.

Respectfully disagree on that one. No ones right 100% of the time.
