    What has he got against us?

    We beat them to the signing of Joe Cole a while back!

    In fairness if the lateral were to be revalued how could the cache do anything but elevate?

    Lateral = full back
    World = World Cup
    Cache = value

    They're worried if he has a good World Cup his price will go up basically, so want to conclude the deal soon.

    I still prefer their phrasing though!

    Surely they should be thanking us for that :pac:

    Apparently Spurs have no interest in signing Lallana because of all the attacking players they bought last year.

    To be fair, Henderson's shown the same last season

    Ramsey is head and shoulders above Henderson technically.

    Not much good if you can't string three games together!

    Because of one good half season? Let's see if he can do anything next season

    Allen set to captain Wales against Holland on Wednesday. Great stuff.

    Ramsey was Arsenal's player of the month for 5 consecutive monthly awards from May to November 2013, and one of our best players in the second half of the 2012/13 season. He was near the top of the passing and tackling stats that year too. He then did the same in the first half of this season, except he also scored more goals than any other midfielder too. Before he got injured he was odds on for young player of the year, and behind only Suarez in the PFA award odds.

    He then got injured for 3 months, came back and was man of the match in 2 of the last 4 matches of the year, and scored the winner in the FA cup final.

    There's no doubt about Ramsey being one of the best players in the league now. None at all. He's been consistently Arsenal's best player for over a year. In fact, the time period is about as long as Suarez amazing run of form has been, and only a fool would suggest we "see if Suarez can do anything next season".

    Sometimes I despair of the ignorance of people on here.

    No from watching both players for the last 3 years.

    Just my opinion, not a Pool or Arsenal fan.

    Injuries obviously do hold Ramsey back. But he returned at the end of the season and even without being match fit he proved that his form wasn't a "flash in the pan".

    That's exactly why I would have henderson over Ramsey . If Ramsey could manage to stay fit . I would nearly take Ramsey over Henderson .

    In fairness they're completely different players.

    Ramsey has got that quality to go on and be a top quality player. It should be obvious that while he has been good since he got into the side, last season was a standout year for him, he definitely hit another level. Counting in his age and injuries I wouldn't think it would be ignorant to say lets see how he progresses next season.

    Some fit young women playing football on the telly right now. That might ease the tension.

    Is anyone else in for Lallana? Southampton might wanna take that 25m and start using it fast. Unless they wanna actually keep Lallana, which wouldn't be a bad idea once he stopped sulking, which would be natural.

    They need to be dead sensible.

    Stabilisation and making sure they don't drop out of the division should be priority number 1.

    All the good work they've done in the last 2 years could easily go down the toilet if they don't hit the ground running.

    The problem with this transfer is that Southampton only get to keep 75% of the fee so by offering them £25m for him they get to keep £18.75m and perhaps they feel they couldn't adequately replace him for that amount so they're better off doing a Liverpool/Suarez on it and simply refusing to sell unless someone comes in with a truly silly offer. Sure the player will throw his toys out of the pram and stomp around a bit but the day after the window closes Lallana will be presented with a nice big fat pay increase which will help ease the blow.

    selling Lallana for £25million is a sale at the top of the market, he will never be worth any more than that in fairness. Its a really good offer (still overpriced on our end).

    I don't think i'm the only one who is alot more excited by the prospect of signing Shaquiri instead (albeit a completely different kind of player) as he seems to be mentioned as an alternative. He will cost less than £25million aswell

    Since Rodgers came in have we managed to sign anyone;
      ...who was wanted by a number of other clubs,
      ...or from a club that really wanted to hold onto them

    Seems like we've only been able to sign players who aren't in demand or from clubs who are happy to sell. Will feel a lot better about our prospects this transfer window when (or if) we manage to push a more 'difficult' transfer over the line.
