You know, if this swap deal is true, if you think about it, even offering Aspas or Alberto as part of the deal is bad for us overall.

We shelled out 7.7m sterling for Aspas and 6.8m sterling for Alberto. Waste of money right there if they are just makeweights in a deal for Lallana when Soton still want 25m so they can get at least 18/19m of that and still pass on the 25% to Bournemouth.

Why didn't we just do a deal and buy Lam bear for 20m and Lallana for 4m? Cuts out Bournemouth and Soton still get what they want :p

We have enough problems in this thread with panda bears, imagine what would happen if we signed a Lam bear.

Tbh I'm not even surprised or too disappointed.

We can do better than Lallana elsewhere, but still, if Rodgers gets his man I'm still happy.

As long as we get that type of player in, whether it be Lallana or not, I'm not too pushed.

Can barely contain his excitment while trying to be business like and not talk about any potential deal

Are there any interviewers at sky who aren't grade A bellends?

Telegraph saying Southampton have 24 hours to accept offer or we are moving...i love that bullish attitude!

Let's be honest Southampton would be stupid not to accept, I don't see anyone else bidding 25 never mind 30. Players clearly wants to go.

GlenJo being linked to West Ham today. Only joking! it's QPR.

I also love this, a completely different attitude to what we have become accustomed to in recent years. 25m would get us a far superior player on the continent, Southampton are rightfully holding on just in case Lallana lights up the world cup but let's be honest, no team in Europe will want to sign him so it's going to be an English team, all of whom are already aware of what he can do so his WC performance will make no difference.

Two years ago today Brendan Rodgers was appointed manager.

    rumour roundup;

Konoplyanka to Utd looks closer :(....that's gonna hurt.

and Southampton have made it clear that Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana are valued at £30million each by the club.

Lambert deal will be announced when Ian Ayre gets back from Spain where he is trying to tie down TWO players.

The talk is their hoping spurs give them the 30 their asking for. Wonder would llalana be happy to go there instead?

All he has to do is look at the last few players who chose spurs ahead of us.

I'm hoping Southampton stalling things might give us a chance to give our heads a wobble when it comes to the £25mil bid.

I'd give them til tomorrow then walk away and move onto our next target.

The more I think about it the more the £25mil doesn't make sense when compared to the value out there.

Rakitic and Fabregas available for around the same price. It's a no brainer to walk away from this deal.

Rakitic is possible. Fabregas not a chance with wages etc.

We're champions league now and could afford his wages.

Why do people keep thinking that money is an issue at Liverpool when it has consistently been spent and Sterling is apparantly getting a raise to £100k a week?
Policies are in place but it does mean that money is there if they feel it is correct.

    Fabregas aint worth 30 mil.
    Actually i'd probably prefer Lallana.

Fabragas fee wouldn't be an issue but he would be on wages similar to Suarezs...I just can't see it happening, and I think wages will be the mitigating factor as to why he ends up at Utd vs Arsenal if he is moving back to the EPL.

I think the club can well afford him and his wages and the main factor is if they want him or not. Not sure that they do. I don't think he's all he's made out to be.

I think we've just lost interest in Kono. Rodgers was keeping in contact with him and Kono himself spoke favorably in the Ukrainian press about Rodgers and Liverpool. I thought I even read Kono saying he'd prefer to stay in Ukraine if Liverpool weren't in for him as he wants to stay playing CL football.

Fabregas is a wonderful footballer. People's capacity for revisionism is amazing.

Where would you see him fitting into Liverpoools midfield?
