If we were signing Christopher Lambert, I'd hate to be the scout that had to headhunt him.

Cause there can be only one.

    I regret this...

He's French, so you have to pronouce it Lam Bear...

    :D

For those of you unsure, that's actually a MS Paint drawing, and not a real life photo of a lamb/bear amalgamation in a Liverpool shirt.

In fairness to Sterling, he's way ahead of his time.

His kid is a testament to that :pac:

I thought raheem has had six of them at this stage .

We should be all over Di Maria, if he's Available.

He's the Reason why I watch Real (Sorry Xabi).

I've been a Huge Fan of him, because of the Donkey Work he does each Game.

I like Players that always puts in a Shift. Even moreso, if they come with the Quality and the Pace of a Di Maria. Since you Rarely see both of those, in the same Package.

And that's not all. He's even more Impressive this Season. Seeing how he Transitioned so seamlessly to Midfield, was just Remarkable.

Would really love to have him here.

Aaaaaah tis mighty that Liverpool is being mentioned in the same breath as players such as Di Maria once again.

And why not. There are are only so many attackers that the likes of Bayern, PSG, Chelsea and City could need. After those 4 (and outside of Spain), we are in the next layer of possibilities, alongside Dortmund, Juve and Arsenal. That's really it!

Unless he wants to take a step down to United, or the like. :)

Imagine we were linked with Lambert last summer :) it's amazing what a good league finish can do.

In fairness I think most of the acceptance is that the majority of us expect more quality signings to be incoming.

if not then you might just get a insight into how things may have been last season.

The last 32 year old striker we signed did a fine job for us hope this goes the same. Absolutely made up for the guy he will give his soul to lfc.
Very good start to the window.

Yeah, last year we would have been linked with a 32 yo striker.

This year we can sign them.;)

Go out of country for a few days and I come back to Lambert being signed.:D

Funny thing is that big Bill from EST1892 called the move a few days ago, and was laughed out of it.

Did not see it coming, but as a 3rd or 4th choice striker I am happy with him as he should provide decent short term back up. Hell we might even break even on him if Aspas gets sold to a Spanish club

Southampton do play a style of football that a clogger would not work well in, so that bodes well for him fitting in with our middle and final third players, and the guy over the past two seasons certainly showed he can set up goals as well as score them.

wonder how much of a part our england players (particularly gerrard) had in the lambert signing. He obviously doesnt look out of place in the england set up and you would assume gerrard has been reporting to rodgers.

I'd say Rodgers has been watching him for years Lambert would have been the kind of player he would have liked when he was managing in the Championship.

Now if we could agree a deal for Moreno over the weekend, that would be a GREAT start.

Shaqiri, Lallana and Hummels can wait until next week. I'm not greedy!

Of course he has but signing lambert for liverpool is a different matter. Im sure he wouldve had a word with gerrard to see what he is like at that level and the feedback must have been positive.

Rodgers talked him up a while back, we should have seen this coming.

But it is SUCH a non-FSG type deal, maybe Rodgers is getting more of a say in these things...

Steve Peters is also there, I am sure we could have gotten a psychological evaluation from him?

For example - if a player spends his life trying to get to a particular place (Anfield, in this case), and then he reaches it, does that desire die?

It would be a different can of worms asking Steve Peters his feedback on a patient based on any time he spent with him in the England setup, than asking another player (Gerrard) for feedback on another player in the camp.

Peters would be bound by both Doctor Patient confidentially & no doubt confidentially agreements with England. Strictly speaking its a conflict of interest him working for both as it is.

Twitter says Liverpool have agreed a 4 year deal for Emre Can.

Almost as bad as saying Sky Sources..

I'd imagine it's replaced with a different desire to do as well as possible. He not only will have a financial investment in us doing well but an emotional one also.

I think it can be a bigger risk for younger players - Le Tallec springs to mind!

I would expect players like Lambert and other older players to at least be professional and not let the fact that they have signed for a big club lead to a downturn in performances
