SSN seem to get their info from the back pages of the tabloids/twitter. Everytime I hear them say "Sky Sports Sources" I cringe.

Can't get over PSG paying €50M for Luiz. There has to be something more to it than that. Maybe they want to pay €80M for Hazard but make it look like less. I don't know but €50M for Luiz is just crazy stuff.

Need a right back in that case. Flanagan is not a CL level fullback, fine as backup covering both full back positions but not as a starter.

I dont know. I really cant see Suarez go to City to be honest. I can see him going to Madrid/Barca/Munich etc no problem.

If City did lose Toure and Aguero this summer I would expect them to come in for Suarez big time with a world record bid.

I think FSG would turn them down but I would expect a bid.

And they have just been hit with a big fine for FFP, and unlike PSG I expect them to make some attempt to balance their incomings & outgoings.
Maybe even letting Toure go for big money...

Most ever paid for a player? Nope - Andy Carroll

For a defender? Nope, Johnson and Sahko

Most received by Sevilla? Nope, Reyes, Negredo and Navas all have been more I think.

Club record bid for a left back is all I can think of, which is scraping the barrell a bit. I wouldn't have expected such a misleading/overly dramatic headline from The Times

I Would agree with you on that . Tony Barrett and the Liverpool echo are the only ones I would hold with any regard as to transfer activity .

I really hope this deal goes through although with him being at the world cup i cant imagine it being concluded till after that. Could possibly sort out that burning left back problem weve had for years.

We have Enrique for left back, replacing Johnson I thought would have been the more urgent situation.

I reckon we are going to spend close to 100m, the owners have been holding back till we got back in the CL, now we are there they know we have to spend big and wisely to stay there.

Why can't we improve on Enrique, and also have squad depth for CL games?

Johnson may be urgent but it doesn't happen in sequence like that.

And we will get some spare change from selling Reina, one of the CBs (and maybe Coates as well), possibly Aspas (if we sign a goalscorer and keep Borini)?

How would Moreno compare to Felipe Luis?

Because I would love to sign Felipe Luis, superb going forward, superb in defence.

I imagine Moreno is a much more attack-minded full back, with Luis being more balanced.

Moreno is much younger too.

However, even at 28, if we were tabling a bid of 16m for Felipe Luis I wouldn't be adverse to it

Hope you're right, and I agree with you that it's the wise course of action now to really strengthen the squad with the quality of players previously unavailable to us

I don't particularly rate Williams as a CB. I don't think he is the level of player who would make an impact.

I have to admit (not sure if he's been mentioned in these parts before), but if we were to throw a bid at a CB at a bottom-half club, we could do much worse than Winston Reid. Have almost always been impressed when I've seen him play.

I saw that last night and meh is all I can think . Carragher said for his last number of months at the club you knew what Torres you where getting by the first 5 minutes of a game . If he moaned a lot it was a 4 or 5 out of 10 that day .
I would love to see Daniel Sturrigde break his record of quickest LFC player to score 50 goals .
