I've always said it, spurs need more vaguely attacking midfielder types.

    Hope Pepe gets himself sorted.....

"Right now I'm only thinking of La Roja (Spain's national team)," Reina said.

"With regards to a new club, I will first have to speak to Liverpool.

"My season on loan at Napoli has been very positive and I thank the Napoli people and the club.

"With Barcelona there is nothing, they have just acquired (German goalkeeper)

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, hence they have that role covered.

"I haven't had any contact either with Atletico Madrid, I think they will do all they can to keep (Thibaut) Courtois.

"I will return to be a Liverpool player but I think I'm not in the coaching plans."

The Lallana deal bugs me in one way and one way only. I like him as a player but the world wouldnt stop spinning if we didnt, what would bug me is if we didnt get him there would be howls of anguish that we missed another 'target', we are PERFECTLY entitled to not pay over the odds for a player.

Said it far too many times in the past, but it's fine overpaying for the right target by a few million. Anything nearer to an additional 10M or more, people have a right to pose questions about X transfer. I genuinely do like Lallana and can see why we'd be interested, but it's too much.

For 30M, if we're smart, we could buy 2 or 3 players that will significantly strengthen our starting XI. Though of we're going spend 30M on a player in midfield, it should be for someone like Witsel or Rakitic (he's going for cheaper AFAIK, but point still stands) who were highly rated youth prospects, proven at club level and internationally over a number of years and are younger too than say Lallana.

So it's Napoli all the way. Courtois will stay at AM with Costa going the other way. But where for Valdes, still Monaco?

I assume Valdes has himself sorted or he wouldnt have refused a contract at Barca.

I would like to get Lallana for the right price but the fact that Bournemouth are due 25% of any transfer fee is going to really complicate this one. Southampton want 20M for themselves so if they sell him for 20M they only get 15M. Hence them hiking it up to 25M minimum. The fact that Spurs may be interested is probably music to their ears as they will hope there will be an auction for the player.

Lallana might have to push a bit harder at his end to get a move to Liverpool. Not easy when he's going to be away at the World Cup.

Reina and Mig keeping each other on their toes.

    works for me.

see the thing is I dont believe this for a second. That Lallana is desperate for a move to LFC.

remember the other players that were reported 'desperate' for a move to LFC...

    Sigurdsson
    Dempsey
    Konoplyanka
    Mkhitaryan
    Willian

    its a load of tosh.

Never going to happen. And generally, it's not necessary! There are very few big teams that have two keepers who could not be considered first choice on any given day. Always a clear #1 and #2.

An upgrade on Jones would be good, but would be best if he was homegrown to help with our quota. How about someone like Kuszczak, would he have residency after 10 years in England? He's out of contract at Brighton...

Offer 5M for Lallana and 30M for Lovern, everyone's a winner.

    Except Bournemouth.

Didn't Porto try that last summer with João Moutinho and James Rodríguez to Monaco for a combined £60m, I believe they tried to claim that Moutinho was only signed for a snip because Sporting were due a cut of the fee, but I think it was shot down...

If he's desperate for a move he will move to LFC over spurs or anyone else because he will push for the move . If he isn't interested in LFC he won't . It's that simple in my eyes .

Didn't have any Champions League for any of them though.

    Sigurdsson never wanted to come.
Dempsey wanted to come but was blocked by Fulham because we low balled them and wouldn't pay over the odds.
Konoplyanka wanted to come but was blocked by a crazy owner and may yet still come.
Mkhitaryan wanted CL football and got it.
Willian wanted lots of money and he got it.

Lallana may not even be a target we may or may not have made an offer.
I said if he wants to move to us over Spurs and play CL football he should put in a transfer request.

But that doesn't mean he wants to come to us.

But in no way should we pay £30m for him.

I think Sig was keen on joining us at first, but then him and his agent opted for the money instead, to be fair.

Yep I'm pretty sure that came down to wages at the end and Rodgers wasnt prepared to pay him what he wanted.

Mirror saying we want 7million for Assaidi...that has to be taking the p*ss. As for the lunch time slump, it's too nice a day to be sitting at your desk posting on boards when you're not expected to be sitting at your desk working.

Why not? - he was brilliant for Stoke last year and they've spent similar amounts on players such as Cameron Jerome.

Everytime we look to buy a player we get extortionate fees requested so I'm actually delighted to see us bullying a club financially for once
