    Group of death

    Real Madrid
    Borussia Dortmund
    Liverpool
    Monaco

    Some deadly options there alright!

    My preference:
    Atletico Madrid
    Juventus
    Liverpool
    Celtic

Either of these groups are the way to go. Big game nights with good tv money to be had.

It also gives the players the games they wanted in the CL and Brendan a chance to flex his managerially skills against the best in Europe.

If were get out of the group great and if we don't it is still a great experience for the team.

With all the domestic leagues finishing up, it's also interesting to consider our Champions League group, seedings and co-efficients can be found here - http://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/seedcl2014.html

    Dream group

    Porto
    Basle
    Liverpool
    BATE Borisov

    Group of death

    Real Madrid
    Borussia Dortmund
    Liverpool
    Monaco

I have to say I am wetting myself at the thought of our attack, Sterling, Suarez and Sturridge in particular, with some additions to come, going at these teams, on one of footballs biggest stages, with the world watching and thinking "Wow, Liverpool are back". BRING IT ON!

I really don't care how strong the opposition could be - the first season back should be just regarded as a bit of fun that will raise Liverpools profile. Getting beyond the group stage would be a surprise.

    What antics Nuri?

As I said before, he is/was a bit of a hot head. Had a training ground bust up with I forget who at Bayern, over a dangerous tackle he made in pre-season camp. He was also prone to moaning quite a bit at the lack of game time and he got into heated conversations with Van Gaal (who doesn't, heh?) and Heynckes. He also tried to scythe down me last season too which I didn't appreciate.

Is the window open? Thought it was June for European transfers.

You can do deals and sign contracts, but you can't officially register the player until July 1.

United signed Van Nistlerooy in the April of the season before.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    His last tweet.
    Raphael Honigstein ‏@honigstein 4m
Last Can tweet: very curious scenario. Two conflicting contracts. One between player and Leverkusen, other one between Bayern and Leverkusen

    Edit:

We really do pick players with strange contracts. Last year it was Mkhitaryan.

    Very interesting if true.
Can: situation complicated. He has a release clause. But Bayern also have an option to buy him back. Leverkusen with a huge legal problem
Release clause should not have been inserted. So far, no contact between Leverkusen and Bayern. Deal hangs in the balance
Bayern option is active throughout, irrespective of other interest. (But staggered buy-back fee)

Is there ever an uncomplicated transfer for us?

Lads, you're going to make it a very long Summer if you start reading Twitter.

Our signings this summer will be vital as to whether we can compete now that we have the burden of euro competition that we sneakily avoided in our bid to win the league and we would have got away with it too if it wasn't for city and their pesky superior squad.

That's just an excuse put about by clubs with bigger squads. If not playing in Europe was that helpful, teams would go from 8th to 1st more often.

I see little genuine complication here - do Bayern really want him at all? Almost
certainly no. Have Leverkusen possibly been a bit slow to inquire of Bayern? Probably, for their own reasons!

    Ugh,

Can we not find a player that isn't mired by part ownership crap....

**** that, give me the easiest group possible, Schalke last 16, Sporting Lisbon last 8, Salzburg last 4 and BATE Borisov in the final.

    No chance undermining Van Gaal

Said this for the past few years, but Twitter works if you follow the right people. Most people I come across go out of their way to follow ITKs, tabloids and the tabloids dressed up as broadsheets.

You can't equate 'Agent203495' to Raphael Honigstein, he knows his stuff.

I think it's a mistake to assume that these guys always know the story.

I'm sure the info they give out is generally given in good faith but their sources can be wrong, someone can change their mind and the info becomes outdated or they can just make a mistake.

Even with the "reliable" sources you need to take what's said with a large amount of salt.

I think it was effectively argued over the course of the second half of the season, well when it looked liked Liverpool might win, that not in being in Europe was the main contributor.
