Bringing back memories of Roy Hodgson and his rein of terror makes me feel a little like this.

I think its pretty obvious to us all now in retrospect why all those signings failed. Not a one of them is leaning or even suggesting they might break into a lean.

Is that the worst transfer window ever at Liverpool?
The one decent player he signed, he didn't have a clue what to do with him.
Hodgson didn't sign Jovanovic, he had a pre-contract agreement with Liverpool while Benitez was still manager. I'm not sure he signed Cole either, I think that was already in place by the time he got there but he didn't sign the contract until Hodgson was in charge.

He didn't sign those, no, but Poulsen and Konchesky were unavoidably his, as was the somewhat successful Meireles.

Maybe the reference was to Raul Meireles (not in the picture) rather than Jovanovic.

£18m for Alexis Sanchez is a no brainer to be honest unlike £25m Lallana. The £18 could be made back from a sale if he failed at Liverpool where we would never get anywhere near £25m for Lallana if he failed to make the grad.

But I do think both would be a success if we got them.

I know he didn't do that well there but I just dislike when people try to attribute other bad signings to him that he didn't make.

Sanchez available for under 20m  Make it happen Brendan!

I noticed this clip on twitter. Its a short vid of Stevie & Owen at U15 level.

Players linked vs LFC players in the same position this season gone.

    Fullbacks:

Attacking midfielders and wing forwards (Koke has been somewhat shoehorned into this it seems):

While his signings in general weren't good, that's the least of my issues with him during his time there. It was a very challenging time in the club that he was there, with the ownership battle and coming within minutes of receivership, but even with that caveat, he wasn't right for the club anyhow.

The Daily Star are reporting Liverpool and Arsenal as having bid £18m for Barcelonas Alexis Sanchez.

I'm not sure that would be such a good signing if its true.

Agree. I don't rate the guy, his decision making is terrible.

The only player who joined Liverpool during his stint that he didn't sign was Jovanovic. He signed arguably the worst defender and midfielder to ever play for Liverpool, he signed one good player (Meireles) and played him on the right wing, he was clueless.

Pretty sure it was Hodgson that signed Cole afair it was Wilson that was agreed before Hodgson arrived but still decided on signing him

Hodgson had us playing brutal football.

Completely out of his depth. Similar to Moyes at utd.

I think closer to 25M would be a more realistic fee for Sanchez, tbh.

Are Lallana and Sanchez in the same price range?

Christ. Season is over a week and we're talking about Roy ****ing Hodgson.

    This is gonna be torturous!

Sanchez is apparently available for less than Lallana.

Plenty were happy enough when Cole signed tbf, myself included, considering how badly the club was financially at the time.

If you Guys are Bored, you should watch La Liga.

2 of our Loanees (Ilori, Suso), are currently engaged in a Relegation Scrap right now.

Seriously though, that squad would have potential to be dark horses if it wasn't for Woy being in charge.
