Lol, Rodgers has a hopeless transfer record. Ye are screwed. Dream on with your fantasy signings. You'll be searching the wheelie bins as per usual.

    Please tell me more .

looks like we are going for Shaqiri

    http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-fc-plan-transfer-bayern-7134921
Liverpool FC are considering an approach for Bayern Munich’s World Cup midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri.

And Brendan Rodgers is also running the rule over Southampton defender Dejan Lovren as he starts to ramp up his summer recruitment drive.

The Reds boss has made Lovren’s club team-mate, England international Adam Lallana, his prime target.

But with Southampton thought to be holding out for more than £20million, Liverpool are assessing other options.

And 22-year-old Shaqiri, who will star for Switzerland in Brazil next month, has emerged as a potential target.

Bayern would be tempted with a bid of around £15m for the player, who has not been a regular since moving from Basel in 2012.

Rodgers is also keen to bolster a defence that leaked 50 goals in the Premier League, with 24-year-old Croatia international Lovren – who scored the winner for Southampton against Liverpool at Anfield last September – at the top of his shopping list.

Also reports we are close to activiting a 12m release clause for Emre Can

Apparently BILD are saying we've activated Emre Can's €12M release clause. Fairly sure I read an interview saying he will stay in Germany for another couple of seasons. Sounds like that young DM Rodgers was on about Rather throw double that at Lars Bender if I'm honest, despite his comments recently, or go for Geis at Mainz who looks a hell of a talent and will inevitably end up playing for the national team sooner or later.

What u think of Emre Can? I think he would a very good signing.

He was very highly thought a few years ago, but had some behind the scene issues at Bayern, bit of a hot head, hence why he was sold. Bayern do have a buy back clause on him though, but I don't expect that to be an issue if BILD are correct and we're in for him. I always take BILD with a pinch of salt. He has all the attributes one would want in a modern day defensive midfielder though, and he is still very young too, I think he's 21 now(?).

But as I said above, I'm unsure if he'll want to move as he's just settling down, playing regular football, etc. Will he get that at Liverpool next season with Gerrard playing as an unorthodox DM? I don't think so.

I'm a big fan of Geis at Mainz and Malanda at Wolfsburg, two similarly young DM's like Can. Both are different in style, but both very impressive too.

Emre Can aint consistant enough for Liverpool, he wouldnt improve us.......simple as.

Out of all the transfer rumours this Emre Can one for me holds the most chance of being true.

We really do go shopping for those young players that have shone in the past but now look to have stalled, or look to be at the wrong club.

    Coutinho, Sturridge, Sakho, etc etc.

    very predictable.

Shaqiri would be a signing I'd like to see, another good attacking option. Few different papers have said he'll move this summer which wouldn't be a surprise as his starts are limited at Bayern.

Of course this could be a smoke-screen to stop the Lallana price grtting put of hand and try and coax Southampton into doing a deal

Emre Can's agent has a very good relationship with Brendan Rodgers. Did Sahin and Yesil deals

Supporting Liverpool is great, what a season! The belief we all have now, I thought was gone

Some year and so many memories

Listening to the anfield wrap and giddy listening to best moments

Looks like Can, Lallana, Shaqiri will be Liverpools first targets. Talks that Moreno wants a Madrid move. Not sure what that means for Contreao tho. Still reckon Cole on a free be ideal for a year or two.

Player I'm most excited by our being linked to is Lovern. Reckon he can be a top EPL centre half like Kompany, Vidic, Terry

Good player but hasn't done enough to justify 20m when of bought for 8m not so long ago. Thought his form dipped considerably after his injury after Xmas. Really don't rate him any better than Skrtel. H

If we got Shaqiri for 15 mill it would be some bit of business. I'd probably sh1t pant at the prospect of it.

I like the odd cheesy compilation video as much as the next man, but they're a brief silly indulgence for the most part.

This popped up in my 'suggested videos' and is a bit different , it's magnificent, this would stir even the coldest hearts.

Is that comparing Rodgers to Jesus? Thats a bit mental, totally different. One is the messiah and the other is Jesus.

In relation to Can, he also fits the mould of being able to play a few different positions, particular around midfield, and can also slot in at left full.

I haven't seen enough of him to know if he's any use, but the game against Utd this year springs to mind where he stood out.....he also ticks the box of a young player with Champions League experience.

Sunday tittle-tattle in addition to the previously mentioned

    Alexis Sanchez
    Wilfried Bony
    Javi Martinez

and Barca/Real to make 100 bid for Suarez! :p

I think he's a lot more measured than Skrtel tbh. Recall him being excellent against United at OT this season before xmas

Whatever happened the Scandinavian centre half we were linked with a while back? He ended up moving to Southampton instead. I can't think of his name right now.

Just heard an advert for that wanker who scribbles for the Sunday Budgie Cage Liner (Gerrard article) - this week he tackles Aldo.
