Don't have a definite angle to say whether that was a goal or not but intuition tells me it was a goal. Dortmund player was just offside though.

Christ this is a terrible game though.

    Ohh thought that was in!

Shels vs Rovers B was much worse last night, I suppose...

Ah it is. I don't think too many would complain if they just skipped this half and went straight to penalties.

    Poor defending there

Yay a goal. Wrong team though. Needed Dortmund to score to open the game up.

Should make things slightly more exciting though.

Weidenfeller was poor there. He will be kicking himself.

Think Klopp has to go away over the summer and have a long think about his defence...........

He and Dortmund locals need to wake up to Weidenfeller first and foremost. Mitch has to start or a new goalkeeper has to be brought in. Disappointed there's no chance of Ter Stegen or Sommer this summer anyway. Schmelzer should be sold (not to Liverpool like one or two rumours suggest!) or at least dropped for Durm who looks very composed when he has played, much like Mitch for that matter. Number one thing is some luck for with injuries, this season I've never seen anything like it for any top club. Plagued our season, but despite that Dortmund fought till the bitter end in both the CL and Pokal. The league showed in that run at the end as players returned, our form improved.

Oh, and despite the goals and memories, I'm not fussed about Lewy leaving. I've complained numerous times in this thread he's been lazy as hell this season, as well as his first touch and finishing becoming very inconsistent.

I posted this a couple of months ago, still stand by everything I said that day.

    Speaking for myself here.

The outlook, despite what much of the media in England and fans of EPL clubS think is in fact good so long as we secure CL football, which we will barring another injury crisis.. err... upon the current injury crisis.

When talking about the future, it starts with Zorc (Sporting Director) and Klopp.

Zorc's future at the club is secured after signing a new contract a couple of months ago. The man is one of the best in the business at finalising deals in bringing in transfers. With what's happened with Lewa and Gotze, awarding of new player contracts will have to be more water tight and I'm sure it will be.

Regarding Klopp, they're so many people convinced he will abandon the club at the sight of money without knowing the type of person he is, other than being a damn good coach and funny guy. Dortmund like Mainz before is the type of club that attracts him. It's about community and being one of the people for him. I can hand on heart say he's one of few people in football who's word is legit and I take at face value. He like Zorc signed an extension to his contract that will see him to 2018 earlier in the season and I have no doubt he'll honour it. He's said he'll build a new Dortmund team and I have no reason he will. Then as I have suggested a few times before in this thread, I fancy him to take over as coach of the national team. Given one or two previous interviews on the subject, it seems like before 2020 at the latest he'll be coaching the national team.

Reus isn't going anywhere neither. He's a Dortmund boy through and through, someone who has reiterated numerous times that he knows the pain the fans, players and manager went through with Gotze' departure. He's someone who desperately wanted to return to Dortmund and has said, he have accepted any contract to resign for the club. On the off chance he were to leave, there would be an absolute frenzy to sign him from clubs in the CL. I know he's a keen follower of La Liga, so perhaps one of the two big boys will snap him up in the future if they are serious.

Lewa I've my feelings clear, I rather he remain on the bench and instead see Aubame start up front like he did for St.Etienne. As long as he does play, I'll support him, but I'm just uneasy with him being a starter and despite the goals, some awful performances. I'm not trying to take anything away from him, but I think we can adequately replace him, be it a Ramos, Volland or whoever else.

As for this season on the pitch overall, the team has been torn apart by injuries from the beginning till now which is rarely mentioned by EPL fans or press alike. There have been times where we've had to play a back four with none of the starters in it. Lewnadowski, Reus, Kehl, Bender and Gundogan have missed games here, there and everywhere. Gundogan who is in that top tier bracket of center midfielders has played 57 minutes this season, just 57(!) and will miss the rest of the season it seems. Subotic has played 10 games, he'll play no further part this season. He's only played in 10 games, his center back partner Hummels has only played 14 games. Kuba will miss the rest of the season, basically half the season due to his injury suffered in January. Piszchek is back now, but he's missed half the season too. You can see the games/minutes played for the squad here.

As for Bayern specifically, I'm not scared of them. I don't like Pep, nor his football, but he's a great coach, but so is Klopp. They've been very, very fortunate with injuries this season. They're strength in depth though is something else, so when a player misses a game, well they're not missing him terribly if at all as I eluded to above. We cannot do that, especially when factoring in wages. If we have some luck on the injury front, I don't expect us to be more than 9 points off that at the very worst next season.. and with the right signings again like last summer, we'll be back competing with Bayern.

So with all that said, I'm not sure why people are either having a pop at Dortmund for their results/league position currently, dismissing the club and thinking they're respective clubs just have to click their fingers to get our coach and players.. or maybe they're completely naive and/or oblivious in not understanding how injury ravaged the team has been. Could many clubs have coped with our injury woes this season? Bayern maybe? Other than that, I genuinely don't think so. Klopp and co. have done an incredible job up to now all things considered. Just have to secure CL football for next season, and who knows, hopefully continue on our CL run this season (we can beat anyone on our day despite a thin squad at this moment).

Some gimp at the sligo rovers match shouted the final score to one of his gimp friends standing in front of me. That's my plans for the evening ruined now.

Unlucky Dortmund. Things could be worse, you could be about to get relegated :o

Let me tell you one thing, there is no justice in football, as it seems. But next season, both of our teams will challenge those Bavarian (insert rude name of your own choice) and we will show them, that we do not need some tax dodging CEO and diving players to win titles.
