They had 6 fringe players playing and the league is over so it means nothing really

No more or less than our game means i guess, given we're not playing for anything either really. They did bring on three players who will probably start on Wednesday in the second half though

    This was the team

Neuer - van Buyten, Martínez, Mandzukic, Shaqiri, Pizarro, Weiser, Schweinsteiger, Hojbjerg, Sallahi, Kroos

Most of the big guns rested.

They had 64% possesion and lost so there is hope.

Same as for United, big guns rested and league over! :pac:

Does an Everton win tomorrow open up a glimmer of hope again for 4th place?

That is Ole gone for sure

I feel sorry for Young with that injury but we are a far better team without him in it IMO. Since he has gone off, the team has been more fluid and flexible.

    fantastic goal

that second half interchanging football is some of the best I've seen us do in YEARS.

Mata, Nani, Kagawa, Januzaj, some unreal stuff.

    *Edit

And a lovely goal to top it all off, sensational.

Horrible first half preformance, good second half. Let's not get carried away; Newcastle are beyond poor right now, and it would have been a major worry if we couldn't have put a few past them.

Shocking - put Kagawa, Hernandez and Mata (in his natural position) and we played some massively positive stuff. It's a shame for the first two their contributions will likely be overlooked; no matter what they do, I doubt they'll get into the Bayern game, and they know it.

Lidergaard did really well. Fletcher solid in midfield. Buttner doesn't look to be getting the nod against Bayern which is shocking, but same as the Hernandez/Kagawa situation. Fel makes it harder and harder to defend him. Evra was useless.

And Mata....just brilliant today. Made sure we didn't miss Rooney at all, and was far more of a creative influence on the game.

Sums it up though; our second string who Moyes seems content to sell on parts of played more like "Man United" than our first team have this season.

    Late title charge?

Kagawa is making a serious claim to Moyes these last few games, that he has a rightful place and future at the club. Brilliant attitude and fair play to him

We need to remember how abysmal Newcastle have been but credit where it's due. We have played some lovely stuff today.

Everton have a much tougher run in than Arsenal. Regardless of the result tomorrow, Arsenal will have at worst a one point lead and have a very good chance of winning their remaining games. Everton have United and City, can't remember who else.

Wouldn't mind seeing Kagawa play CM a bit more now towards the end of the season. Has all the attributes to play there and would solve a lot of problems.

One thing I noticed was when the co-commentator was going through candidates for MotM, Kagawa wasn't even in his shortlist of Mata, Chico and Lindegaard. So much of what Kagawa does goes unnoticed in England which is a real shame as teams pay 40m for what he brings to the table.

it would be better if everton won and we beat them, that way we might sneak 5th

That was probably our best attacking display of the season. Mata and Kagawa work amazingly together and if fit should play every game together. Kagawa's interplay with all our forwards is fantastic.

Would love to see Kagawa start on Wednesday now, Moyes would be an absolute dope not to start him at this rate. Lot of the lads playing today should be the ones we're looking at moving on with rather than some of the first teamers Moyes will stick with instead (Valencia, Young, Cleverley). Play Kagawa, Buttner and Fletcher and you just may never know.

Kagawa needs to stay at Utd, Mata needs more games at 10. Selling RVP during the summer almost seems to solve more problems for us than keeping him does.

Kagawa, Mata, Rooney, Januzaj - there is so much potential.if the strategy is focused more through the middle and less crosses from wide.

Fletcher was another who flew somewhat under the radar but did very well today. Probably not got the legs for Bayern though.

Our away form is so good. If it wasn't for our unusually poor home form this season we'd be much better off. It's clearly the new turf's fault.

Not a hope will he start Kagawa on Wednesday IMO. He would have taken him off after 60 mins or so if he was a key player for Wednesday.
