For what it's worth, William Carvalho scored tonight for Sporting away to Maritimo.

WHAT??? it was an unbelievable goal, just look at the bend, swerve, dip the ball had, not a chance for the goalie...

Ball bounces twice, Rooney nudges his marker and speculatively hits the ball from 54 yards, ball bounces a couple of yards before the line and goes in.

The keeper runs in a circle and disorientates himself otherwise he could have just taken a few steps back and caught the ball.

Any keeper should have saved that. This keeper didn't. It's a goalkeeper error.

Dont normally post at the weekend but seriously Rafael, what a car crash. He is a cracking full back, a great player but hes a walking red card at this stage.

How is he a cracking player?

    I don't see it.

    He's a complete liability,
Get rid of him like the brother.

Meh, after we lose to West Ham this weekend the delusion will quickly evaporate

    We'll lose to West Ham.

1-1 and some of the ugliest football you're ever likely to see on display

    No, we'll draw.

Carrick in defence (marking Carroll ffs), Fletcher and Fellaini midfield. David Moyes = Football Genius.

2-1 WHU on that basis so, Carroll with both of theirs.

    No, actually, we'll lose.

and after City beat us by 4 or 5 we'll be back where we were prior to wednesday talking sense.

    We'll lose comprehensively to City

We'll be embarrassed and it'll come off the back of more bad results like getting done by City.

    Definitely comprehensively.

Jesus Christ we better not beat City

    But, Jaysus, we could win?

    12-0 on aggregate

    We'll lose 12-0 to Bayern.

I'd say in OT it'll be 0-4 at the best and another beating by 3 clear goals out there against Munich's second string

    No, 7-0.

There'll be at least 6 clear goals in this, take it to the bank.

No, not 7-0, but at least 6.

Am now extremely worried that we'll have a late season flourish and win a few games to keep Moyes in a job.

    Moyes will keep his job.

At least this will probably get Moyes sacked.

Moyes is probably getting sacked after Bayern.

Moyes getting a pass for Bayern thrashing us as it's to be expected,

No, he actually he'll keep his job.

i've actually a real worry at the moment that we'll string a few half decent results together.

After predicting loses against West Ham, humiliation by City, and two humiliations against Bayern, your worried we'll string a run together.

I've no axe to grind with Man U, nor any other team in EPL so not sure what blinkers you're talking about.

Not taking any shots at ya, but if you're a Man United supporter, YOU DO NOT EVER REFER TO THE CLUB AS 'MAN U'

I'm sure we all change our views over time and get predictions completey wrong, but seldom have I seen someone contradict themselves so often in the space of a few days. The most outlandish claims do tend to stick in mind.

I've seen this mentioned a few times, and I genuinely have no idea why that would be? Is there some offensive context I am missing? I saw something before in one of the soccer forums many mini dramas when some utd fans were trying to ban the use of that terminology by others, but it mystified me then as well.

Anyone care to enlighten me? I don't think it's a term I have used, and don't intend to use it, but still interested in knowing.

Isn't it something to do with Man U being like that horrible manure song?

Not familiar with that song, but if it is associated with something like that it's fair enough I guess. I'd imagine most times it is used it's not meant to offend though.

Yeah it's a term used by rival fans to mock the Munich Air Disaster.

I think it's just people looking to be offended by something TBH.

I think there was some debunked theory about it being used in a song mocking Munich. I think I used to give out to people for using it until I heard it wasn't true, at least not in the scale that some think.

The blinkers you have with regards giving credit where it is due for a good goal.

The keeper made one mistake being too far off his line, anything he did after Rooney shot the credit goes too Rooney for executing a lovely shot.

A lovely shot... that should have been saved by any other keeper.

A goalkeeping error, not a good goal IMO.

Few rumours in the papers today that we've wrapped up a deal for William Carvalho for 37m. Lot of money, has anyone seen him play much?

I hope the reported fee is bull****. That kinda money will buy more established players.
