We have been pumped but we have not been Arsenal pumped.

Did I mention thank **** im not a Arsenal fan yet?:pac::pac:

I have Arsenal mate who at this time I am seriously worried about the fella. Heading out for pint later with him and Pool lad. Should be fun.

They're a good lesson in how blowing all your money on an attacking player you don't need does not to fix anything.

Procrastinating from college work, I decided to look up Ronaldo comments/threads on here from 2003. I find this stuff fascinating.

Here is the Sporting-United match thread.

    His signing to United thread.

Reactions after his début against Bolton thread.

They've conceded more goals against the top teams than against the rest of those they played combined.

Is there any correlation to be drawn between this promising performance and the absence of the players who aren't playing for Moyes intentionally or not for one reason or another, ie RVP, Vidic, Evra, Rio?? Just throwing it out there.

Nice performance, some good play in attack, Mata-Shinji-rooney axis has so much potential. Great flexibility in defence in difficult circumstances... Give Buttner a run now, he's no world beater but at least he is in the positions he needs to be in.

No. The correlation is between our performance and the quality of team we are playing.

What? No way they're having him on? For whatever reason can they justify having him on MOTD?????

Sports relief. Actually expecting him to be pretty good and entertaining. He's articulate and intelligent and will give the discussion a bit of life, i dont think i could say the same about shearer and lawrenson.

No. The correlation is between our performance and the quality of team we are playing.

Considering the lost points to Stoke, Southampton, Newcastle, Cardiff, West Brom, Fulham and cup losses v Swansea, Sunderland and Olympiakos I don't think it's a flat out no based only on quality of opposition.

Personally I think the balance was better than in many games. Three quality attack players supported by effective midfield, organised defence where tactics didn't play to oppositions strengths.

Never said "every poor team has led to a good preformance", just that our good preformances are against poor teams.

How come none of Smalling,Evans etc were on bench today...are they injured??only def on bench was Evra and the way he is playing Moyes would prob have thrown on Lindegaard before him if needs be;)

    Best post !
Why, pray tell? Ronaldo is a damn fine prospect- in fact better than that, he could be first team material. But he is no better than Le Tallec or Pongolle and the fee paid is enormous! D'alessandro went to Wolfsburg for a third of that fee and he was the fulcrum of the Boca team that just won the Copa Libertadores- and he is the same age. I think he will be a very good player but he is'nt the saviour many are painting him to be and they were stung on the price.

94% pass rate by Mata in the number 10 role.

Carrick did well at CB,in fairness West Ham were so one dimensional it wasn't hard for him to shine.

Good enjoyable performance today. Was very nervous when I saw the line up in defence but West Ham being so shít let us off the hook. But in fairness to Carrick he played very well considering he had to deal with a lot of long balls against a bigger man. Rafael looked dodgy after the early yellow but he got his head to a savage amount of crosses and outjumped Carroll a few times. Buttner was surprisingly good and should be played as first choice in the run up to the Bayern game.

FLetcher and Fellaini did a lot of good work. Fletcher made a great tackle that almost led to a goal in the first half . It was the type of tackle that nobody in our midfield has been making all season. Fellaini was impressive with the amount of help he gave the defence and looked capable although lucky not to be sent off for persistent fouling.

Mata Kagawa and Rooney could be a glorious triumvirate. They just look so good together. The way they linked on the counter attack was outstanding. I would loved to have seen Nani instead of Young. Mata is an absolute joy to watch. Compared to watching Cleverley, its like watching a different sport

RVP missing could be a blessing in disguise. Moyes may have stumbled onto his ideal setup by accident.

Winning 9 out of 16 away games is pretty damn good.

Especially when you consider that under the new mindset, when they go to a big team they wouldn't really have even attempted to win, 0-0 would be the height of ambitions.
I mean the trips to Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City.

So in a way it's 9 out of 12 in away games, with a couple of draws.

    Interesting..
    Alex Shaw ‏@PeopleSportShaw
United have shown William Carvalho's agent round Carrington. CL not a worry. Pole position.
    Alex Shaw ‏@PeopleSportShaw
United also gave Benzema a Utd shirt. And Robben a tour. Doesn't mean a deal is done. But Utd confident Carvalho is on.

Winning 9 out of 16 away games is pretty damn good.

Just shows how the Moyes regime has lowered expectations really. You are happy at winning 9 from 16 games when in fact thats just standard, we generally win 12/13 of our 19 away games every season.

Lets not get too carried away at a stat this club used to take for granted.

They don't have to be mutually exclusive. Why not get both?
