Fellaini did very well in dropping in and out to pick up Carroll I thought. Good positional sense, good performance.

To be fair, Fellaini and Fletcher put in great work to give them some protection. Though Carrick and Jones did play well.

If they had Cleverly strutting around in front if them it could have been a different story

Carrick did well and I thought Jones was excellent. One header in the second half which was a great commanding leap. Rafael was dodgy at times but he'll come good again, although the tide seems to be turning against him on here.

Buttner did very well too, although with little questions asked of him. He did enough though to want him in the team for the rest of the season and Evra nowhere near th starting line up.

I don't think I've seen Buttner not play well but I don't think I've seen him against decent opposition either.

Did they say on Sky we've the best away results?

It was the perfect game to ease him back into things. He got 90 mins under his belt which was crucial ahead of Bayern.
Downing and then Jarvis were awful today.

Be interesting to see if Moyes will give him the Man City game as well, or if Evra will be back for that.

Have to say, and I've been one of his earliest and most vocal critics, and don't get me wrong I still want him gone ASAP, but it's refreshing and nice to see him having an interview where he's under no pressure, looking relaxed and nearly holding back the big smile he has all over his face, wouldn't begrudge him it one bit and had a smile on my face listening to him.

Yeah United have the best away record. Only the 12th best at home.

Sorry lads missed the game, had my own match. How did Kagawa play? and Mata? and did I hear correctly earlier that Carrick was CB?

Cheers, sorry for this, just in the door

Our amazing away record is worth **** all though, we've got pumped in Anfield, Ethiad and Stamford Bridge and not been to St. James's or Goodison where we'll also be beat. Emirates we drew and that was down more to classic late season ineptitude from Arsenal

I actually enjoyed that, makes a nice change, I thought Fellaini made a difference to the play and of course Rooney up top rather than as playmaker is far more effective.

No doubt Moyes will change it all for the City match.

Tbh honest only Liverpool fans in the match thread and 1 or 2 posters here are on Rafa's back.

Buttner was great today I was calling for him to play back in December, hopefully Moyes doesn't revert back to Evra.

Yes in 1st on Away form. Play our home games away would be good.

He's up to third now. This time next year he could be up to second.

Few helter skelter moments but to be expected with balls lumped in the box. Only remember de gea making one save.

RVP injury might be a blessing in disguise domestically. Kagawa Mata and Rooney looked really swift and dangerous every time. Don't think Moyes would choose that with all the lads fit but Kagawa needs to take these chances.

Buttner was excellent. Up against a powerful player he managed perfectly. Not going to say he's the final product but so much talk of needing a new LB and we sent giving this lad a chance. Well done to him

Fellaini impressed me again today with some more great defensive midfielder work.

Ashkey Young though....god he's so pathetic. Never looks up .... Such trash.

Good days work , what we need ahead of City

Was great to see the team play with a bit of freedom for a change, everyone of them wanted to get on the ball.

Got a lucky break for the second goal after another pin point cross from Young :)

If only we could have played like that more often.

City will be the test though. But credit where its due good 3 points.

Not a easy place to go. Hammers have always obsession with beating us so always tricky one.

Just thank God im not a Arsenal fan.

Nice win to paper over the cracks and Rooney, Mata and Kagawa worked really well together. Expect Kagawa to be dropped for Welbeck on Tuesday now though and Young to play regardless.

In the final third that's probably the best we've played all season, there was great link up play in and around the box.

I dont want to see Welbeck start against City at all. Give Kagawa a chance now.

Welbeck can make impact from a sub.

Shame rewatching it via MotD will be ruined by Rusell Brand doing the post match critique. :(

What? No way they're having him on? For whatever reason can they justify having him on MOTD?????

Young has been dire on the right today, no end product whatsoever.

He's better out there than in the left. Not saying much I suppose. He's really **** in the left!

Its one thing being optimistic but I feel like your levels of constant delusional optimism are bordering on insanity.

I'd take Russell Brand doing football analysis over Sheerer any day.

One of the disappointing things about today was not seeing Nani getting a run out in the last 15 minutes to replace Young.
I don't think Young's performance could be classed as a disappointment if it was as good as expected. I'm really really confused as to how he first of all became a Man United player never mind remain one for so long. It really is one of lifes great mysteries right up there with the whole fig in the fig roll situation.

    whats that one again....

If I was on a desert island with Russel Brand and a tin of corned beef, I'd eat Russel Brand and talk to the corned beef.
